Forum:Happy Monkey: Choosing the date
Happy Monkey is brewing. And it will be phenomenal! I'm going to propose a few days...and please sign there if you can NOT participate on that day (assuming that you want to participate ... which you should. The format will be slightly different this year. Slightly. :)
Can you believe it...it's already been almost a year since the awsomeness of Happy Monkey 2011 happened? I can't. Could anyone? This year it will be a 36 hour long writing fest on a topic assigned to you by your fellow competitors. – Preceding unsigned comment added by Shabidoo (talk • contribs)

- I want to participate but probably can NOT fully on this day. If it is held this day I will be a monkey in spirit for much of the day, as well as spirit away a local monkey for some sweet companionship, but for much of the day will be doing something else in the material world. But if it is held then I will participate anyway, so I guess this is just a preference. Thanks for helming this fine contest. Aleister 13:08 21-1-'12

Is a Saturday okay?
It would be easiest for me if it was on a Saturday, moving on to Sunday, but I'm definitely participating no matter what. -- 23:24, January 19, 2012 (UTC)
Hey there, buddy!
Remember me? I'm Scofield, your old friend! Oh, how we used to vote "Keep" on vfd noms together! And friends stand up for each other right? So, strictly as a friend, how about I remind you of my proposed competition that got your support but never really took off? It's been forgotten about ever since, and since we're such good friends I thought you could use the popularity of YOUR competition to include a sub-competition based on my idea! If you do that, I'll consider it as just another kindly favor done for me by a friend. If you don't...well....I mean, I may have to stop being your friend. And bad things happen to those who fail to remain my friends, I really don't know why. --Scofield & Friends 10:45, January 20, 2012 (UTC)
- Please, no, don't contaminate the purity of Happy Monkey with anything but pure monkey. The contest has a format, and has gained a niche in the realm of uncyclopedia contests, be it a tiny niche just above the waterline. Aleister 13:10 21-1-'12
- Some of my friends will be visiting you soon, Aleister. Don't try to stop them, just let them in. --Scofield & Friends 13:21, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Ah, very good! Any friend of yours is a friend of mine. Bread and pasta will be on the table in welcome. Aleister 13:34 21-1-'12

I wasn't here last time...
...so maybe explaining what the competition is first might be a good idea. And I'm interested in participating, as I didn't write for AW, and I missed the last CW and PLS, but I did win (sort of) a category in the last ATDB. (We have a lot of competitions.) Pup 01:16 21 Jan '12
- Puppy, Happy monkey was a 24 hour writing competition. Its simple and uncomplicated. This year its 36 hours. Each participants suggest a topic, and those topics are randomly distributed to other users. you have 36 hours to write an article based on that topic. I will do a pee review on all of the articles (out of 50 points) and invite a few other users to give marks for whatever reason they chose (10 marks each). Something like that. Its fun. Last year there were a lot of really good articles that came out of it.
- Scofield. I liked that idea for a competition, but I don't think it will gel with this one cause its not just unrelated but what I like about this competition is how simple it is. One category and 36 hours long. Lets try your tournament on the fourth week of February and we can co-host it? --ShabiDOO 18:46, January 21, 2012 (UTC)
A challenger appears!
...but it will be a while before the Uncyc Summer Extravaganza: Australian Edition takes off. 03:50, January 22, 2012 (UTC)
