I am starting this discussion in here so Eddie will not locate it.

Luckily we have a little more time on our hands. The block of flats that Eddie lives in is without electricity after the fuse box blew up, and the landlord is notorious for his slow reactions to these matters. So Eddie still has no access to the Internet for the time being as the State Library remains blocked.

I admit to being somewhat flustered at present after the re-direction was removed. It worries me that if we go through the same thing over again Eddie may again try to harm himself if he does not get some form of satisfaction. Now I am in no way suggesting that you all acquiesce to what Eddie requires, but we seem to have an impasse. Hrodulf and I created the Asparagus Syndrome article to replace the Asperger Syndrome article, but the decision to replace it was taken out of our hands by Famine. Then when I found out that Eddie was returning home today, I felt it was important to make a snap decision in order to protect Uncyclopedia. But again the decision was taken out of my hands, this time by Mhaille.

I am starting to see in these decisions a sense of laxity towards the situation at hand, and a willingness to have another "war". I pray that I am incorrect with this assertion. However this is why I am flustered because the threat that Eddie may harm himself again becomes very real should another war start. He does not understand that he can not win a war, especially by himself.

So we need to make a much quicker decision, based on deflecting Eddie away from this website. I can not see any other way myself, and I admit to being somewhat biased towards protecting Eddie. But unlike him, I also wish to see no harm or major alteration to this website. We need a decision and as quickly as possible. I suspect we may have the weekend knowing the landlord, but I doubt the issue will exist beyond Monday. And that is in Australia time I should note.

I am open for suggestions. Wally Burns 09:41, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Obligatory Vote

Score: +6 users for temporarily having Asparagus Syndrome stand in for Asperger Syndrome
  • For, because I have enough shit to feel guilty about.--Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 14:44, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Of course. The drawbacks to changing the article for a few days are negligible compared to the benefits. Spang talk 15:08, 24 Nov 2006
  • For. I read the Asparagus Syndrome article that was written, and it's really good. I think it would make a perfect replacement. --General Insineratehymn 15:22, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
  • For. I suppose I should add my own vote, and I hope I am permitted to update the vote count accordingly. Wally Burns 21:10, 24 November 2006 (UTC)
  • See, Seenyor. I'm up for even longer, just in case. Mr. Briggs Inc. 19:34, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

Ultimatum

After discussion on the wiki and elsewhere, here is our ultimatum:

We will have Asparagus Syndrome stand in for Asperger Syndrome for one week. After that time the articles will be separated and the original Asperger Syndrome page will be restored.

This will be the end of the matter. We are not responsible for the "real" lives of every person who visits this site, but we are willing to be accommodating in this instance. However, once the week is over, the book on this sad "war" will be closed. Period. —rc (t) 21:12, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Y'know, that's not really an ultimatum as such. But that's neither here nor there. Hopefully this will be enough to end the whole Asperger thing once and for all. Spang talk 21:51, 24 Nov 2006
Fine, if you want to be terribly formal about it. And "here is what we've decided" doesn't sound as dramatic anyway. —rc (t) 22:16, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

Somebody needs a hug. /me hug. There, now who's not a grumpy-gus anymore? --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 23:25, 24 November 2006 (UTC)

RC, I must say first and foremost thank you for your consideration. It needed to be this way in order to protect this website from further attacks by Eddie. I do take some issue with the use of the word ultimatum, but I have no intention of making some variety of federal case out of it. I understand your angst of course, but some less confrontational wording would have been more appropriate. No matter what anyone may think of Eddie (rightly or wrongly) he needs consideration, as does the rest of his family including my good self. He may been a pimple of the rear end of life at times, but for the most part he is a good man. It is only when he feels provoked that he gets like he has on this website.

Just to update everyone - the residents of the block of flats are at this moment running a protest outside the landlord's home. Eddie is with them and they are demanding their electricity be restored. I am going down there now to see what is happening. If anyone is interested I will post updates on my talk page, but once I know Eddie is off this website for good (and I expect this will happen with the week long replacement) I will depart also as my job is done.

Thank you everyone for your consideration. Wally Burns 01:01, 25 November 2006 (UTC)

So far so good!

Eddie got his power back this afternoon (the full details will be on my talk page for anyone who is interested) and he informed me tonight that, and I quote;

"They rewrote it, Wal! I won!! I won!!"

Well, he did not as we know. But I put on my best face and encouraged him to concentrate on pursuing that hospital psychiatrist. And in the mood he was in he was more than willing. I suggested that he remove any reminders of this website from his computer and he agreed. With this in mind, I truly believe you have seen the last of him.

Again, thank you for your consideration, and also I do apologise for the anger that he caused. May all of you have a merry Christmas and a happy 2007. Wally Burns 09:32, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
