This is madness!
18:26, 18 May 2010- Madness??! No!
- Not madness? What do you suppose it is then?
- I don't know. Maybe it is madness.
- Of course it is, for verily Sparta that is not madness is not Sparta.
- Frankly, there is nothing mad about Sparta so lets keep the madness out of it. --Wilytank 13:18, June 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Now you're being utterly insane. 13:19, 16 June 2010

I haven't been reading a lot of Uncyclopedia articles lately but this is definitely the funniest one I've read in a long time. --S0.S0S.0S.0S0 14:04, June 10, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe mention the fact that despite Sparta was renowned for its military prowess, most of the famous battles involving Sparta were losses for Sparta. (e.g. Leuktra, Thermopylai, Sellasia, compared to one of the very few notable Spartan victory at Plataia and in the Peloponnesian War that nobody gives much attention to) --Romaioktonos 21:11, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
- Now that it's up as a feature for voting on, dramatic changes to the text besides correcting spelling or grammatical errors aren't usually allowed. Also depends if the author/rewriter agrees to changes or reverts your edits.--RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 21:30, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
- That would actually kinda ruin the tone. Remember, we're not trying to retell every last bit of history in these kind of articles. —Pelozurian (talk) 23:24, 25 June 2010 (UTC)
- For some reason, I think Battle of Leuktra is something worthy to be added: maybe say that the Spartans decided to fight against the Thebans (and their 300 (that is, the sacred band)) in a battle of Homosexuality, and not surprisingly, the Sacred Homosexuals kicked Spartan butt, perhaps. I write horrible, but I suggest something like this:
Sexual Deviancy in Sparta[edit source]
Sparta was known for collective homosexuality, and as much as Korinthos is the leader in prostitution, Sparta was the leader in homosexuality until the Thebaioi trumped the Spartans in a battle of homosexuality in Battle of Leuktra, where the Sacred Band showed their large dicks cultivated by endless dosage of Gaesatae formula. Oh and bad as it sounds to the conservatives (and good to the liberals and gay), Spartans may have believed that a unit of soldiers should make love to another, much like the paedophiles and the ephebophiles all over Hellas, not to mention sharing of wives. It is fortunate that AIDS was not existent until the 20th century, because should HIV ever have made it to Sparta, it would have been a ghost town faster than a depleting gold node.

- You seem to be rather willing to write about Sparta's history. Why don't you write a History of Sparta article, instead of — and forgive me for saying so — adding stuff to this article that would probably disrupt the tone rather than make it funnier. If you write your own article, you're free to deviate as much or as little from this article as you feel like. You can quietly work on it in your userspace and request feedback via Pee Review. This way you can go into as much detail as you want. 22:49, 26 June 2010
- Perhaps Romaioktonos you could try writing about Thebes instead though I would suggest if you are going to make gay jokes, try and think of a different angle. If the Spartans were closet gay so to speak, the Thebans were openly gay...just an idea. Also Heracles/Hercules was born in Thebes so that might be another idea. As fan of all things historical/mythological etc, I can offer suggestions too. --RomArtus*Imperator ® (Orate) 09:41, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
