Transmission[edit source]

Also apparently not transmitted by hundreds of people touching everything in Walmart, uncleansed Amazon warehouses (and couriers going door to door), public transport or going on international flights.

It is transmitted by cash (but not touchscreens which haven't been cleaned for hours), going hiking by yourself or with your housemate/SO in remote locations, walking into your neighbour's yard/garden or riding in a car by yourself.

Animal transmission - bats and pangolins but not by dogs which go up to passing strangers.

I recommend[edit source]

Moving this to COVID-19 as it is no longer just about 2019. Any objections? ShabiDOO 16:57, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

No, I think that this article's title was fine at the time it was created, but this title change is long overdue now. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 17:01, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
But COVID-19 still implies "coronavirus disease 2019". JJPMaster 17:57, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Yes, true, but this is also what everyone has been calling it for a long time. At the time this article was created, a lot of people/most people were still saying coronavirus, and yeah both are still correct, but this title change accurately reflects the way it's most commonly referred to. Proposed addition[edit source]

Does anyone think this (in some form or another) will fit in the article?:

The only country whose response to the outbreak of COVID-19 was worse than China's was the United States, where every single politician believed that the pandemic was a global hoax. The Republicans openly stated as much, ignoring science, like they always do, while the Democrats claimed to believe in the science and started a cult-like following demanding ungodly spending and life-crippling restrictions and legislation, but they were then seen openly violating their own orders, like they always do.

I'm not sure which section would be best to shove this into. No big deal if it doesn't really fit in this article. Cheers. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 17:42, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

I think a "Global Response" section would be good...but it should be short. Like a pargraph or two. Since this article is pretty much taking an opposite of reality, it might be a good idea to present the Republicans or Trump as being overly-cautious, demanding 24 hour a day mask use (even in bed) and calling for a year long absolute shut down (no leaving home for any reason). ShabiDOO 17:52, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Hmm, k, that could work. Also, can we make the pic of George Bush bigger? I've been trying to tinker with a number of px or whatever but nothing seems to be working. That should help make this whole thing look prettier. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 17:57, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Ok yeah those changes to the images are nice. I'll most likely put in a Symbol for vote.svg For. vote on the VFH later today. I'll give it another read and see if I have anything to add. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 18:31, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
MrX: Feel completely free to make WHATEVER edits you like to the article. We can always discuss them if contentious. That would include any material I've written today that you don't feel fits in the article. I won't be a prima-donna about it. ShabiDOO 18:48, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
I've made some minor fixes but the article seems slightly too random to be a feature. It definitely needs a unified concept and style. I'm thinking of a "complete sarcasm" style (basically the style of the "world reactions" section) or an "obvious lies" style (like Trump's POV). ~ HipponiasCUN Talk - Contribs - Articles  19:46, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Cool thanks, to both of you, taking a look now. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 20:03, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
It's eclectic and random nature is one of it's strengths. I think this article has a very high ratio of humour and it has great energy throughout and I think a rewrite would require a lot of cuts (which would involve cutting out most of the good material written by one user or another) ShabiDOO 21:06, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

Ok so I made a bunch of grammar fixes. I also added a pic of a guy licking a window, but now I'm thinking maybe we should remove it? Maybe that's too many images? What do you guys think? Also, in other parts of the world is everyone saying "2 meters" for social distancing? MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 21:39, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

I've heard either 1.5, 2 or 3 metres in Spain, Belgium, Canada and the UK depending on the context though 2 metres seems to be the average I suppose. ShabiDOO 22:21, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

K cool, I added "(2 metres, yes, exactly 2 metres)", feel free to trim that down if it's a bit much or not funny or something. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 22:24, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

Metric system[edit source]

So here in the good ole US of A, the common distance recommended for safe social distancing is 6 feet. What are they saying in other parts of the world? 2 meters? Or do they word it differently or anything? MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 20:43, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

Can confirm it's 2 meters in China. ~ HipponiasCUN Talk - Contribs - Articles  07:07, 10 April 2021 (UTC)

I'm so surprised at what this article became lol[edit source]

I remember writing this early in 2020 hours after I made my account. I just find it funny my first ever article is one of the biggest ones of the past year even though most of my original writings are long gone

--Jotaro Kujo (talk) 16:55, 7 May 2021 (UTC)

Yeah it's certainly chaotic and eclectic....but it's one of the funniest collaborative articles to have been written for years. ShabiDOO 18:51, 7 May 2021 (UTC)
