What you wear defines who you are, whether you like it or not. It can also define what other people think of you. Clothes can influence how attractive women find you, they can help you get hired or a promoted, and they can make you appear successful…or not. And it doesn’t take long for clothes to leave their mark. In fact, it can take mere seconds.
Although it is possible to attract and pick up women, get a job, or impress people even if you do dress like a slob, it usually requires adjustments to your personality, and sometimes big ones. Don't change your personality, clean up your wardrobe. Because regardless of whether or not you have the ability to intelligently converse with a chick, you're good as guaranteed to never get anywhere unless you start to dress sharp.
You want a girlfriend, you know you do[edit | edit source]
The art of picking up girls is not difficult. All you really need to do is get a good grip beneath their shoulders and lift. However, even if it was this easy, most guys still wouldn’t be able to do it because of all the mental blocks they have: “What if I lift her and she thinks I’m ugly? What if I lift her and then I don’t know where to take her? What if there’s another guy who just lifted her recently and he’s a better lifter?” Considering that most guys are scared to death just talking to a woman, you better at least prepare yourself with some nice threads.
Let’s face it, chick magnets and chicks have very little in common. Most normal girls don’t like watching sports, hanging out with the guys, eating extremely fatty foods, listening to the sound of money being counted in a money counter, and being an all around Jet-setting International Playboy. The next time a girl asks you, “What do you like to do for fun?” You can’t really respond with, “Picking up on chicks,” as an answer. And if you think you can get by on your winning personality and good looks alone, think again. Research and studies have confirmed that women go ga-ga over the sharp-dressed man way more than they do for the guy with better “natural looks”. Great news for you if modeling scouts haven’t exactly been pounding down your door lately.
It's What a Girl Wants[edit | edit source]
Still turned off to the idea of ditching the acid washed denim and frayed t-shirts in favor of a more updated look? So are most men. Amazingly, so few men grasp the magnitude to which their image corresponds with how they are perceived of and treated by women, that the man who does make a habit of dressing well is in a very small, very coveted minority. Consequently, there’s no mystery about why the well-dressed man has no shortage of interested women.
It's What a Girl Needs[edit | edit source]
Luckily, dressing well doesn’t mean that you have to follow each of the latest styles or spend tons of money to stay current. As opposed to more trendy apparel—which may look good today but will quickly go out-of-style—investing in quality, classic apparel will ensure that your clothes last longer and keep you looking good for years to come. Plus, if tailored to fit, a great suit or a crisp pair of tastefully-colored jeans (or any item, really) can help to camouflage the fact that you haven’t exactly been going to the gym on a regular basis…or even on an irregular basis.
What we’re talking about here is developing a classic and refined personal style—less Jim Morrison, more James Bond.
Narrow down your core wardrobe to some well-fitting timeless items that coordinate with one another and invest in the best classic pieces you can afford. And remember: Quality beats quantity any day!
