Forum:VFD vs. VFR?
Ever since I joined this crazy site, I have occasionally gone to see what was up at VFD. One thing that comes up over and over again is "Let's make this a redirect" or "let's make this a disambig". Let's just have a page that votes not for total deletion but for redirect or disambig. I keep noticing that those people who start saying "redirect" or anything other than delete get lost in the scramble. What, uh, should we do? • <0:56, 11 Sep 2008>
- Pssh, what do I know? Sounds like a good idea, but so did voting for Bush. - Velosi-T {] Screech * Vomit * Mutilations [} 01:00, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

- Uhm, you're still voting to delete the current content, so it's still a VFD matter. Person'lly I don't see what's wrong with any old person just going and making it a redirect after it's huffed... – Sir Skullthumper, MD (criticize • writings • critchat) 01:02 Sep 11, 2008
- ...you can do that? • <1:03, 11 Sep 2008>

Creating VFR wouldn't solve the problem (whether it's a serious problem to begin with is debatable). Those who put stuff up for VFD often don't realise that there exists a much more awesome article on the same broad topic. That's why the redirect needs to be suggested. Plus, it would be another unnecessary level of bureaucracy that few would bother with. -- 15Mickey20 (talk to Mickey) 12:02, 11 September 2008 (UTC)
