Having just gone through the first thirty or so pages on Short pages, and QVFDing 26 of them, I've decided to raise a flag for our friendly admins: Shortpages is full of junk and rather than waste space on QVFD by listing it all (since QVFD is already quite full, and badly in need of an archiving [which, also, if non-admins can do, I will gladly do]), I'll just say this here and hope that somebody reads it. --Andorin Kato 19:27, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

QVFD's been archived. But Shortpages still festers. --Andorin Kato 19:49, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
On a related note, there seems to be a consistent back-up in the QVFD. As usual. --EMC [TALK] 20:14, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Okay here's an idea...Lets delegate responsibility to each admin for a certain page. For example one gets broken redirects, one gets WIP, one gets double redirects etc and it's their job to clean it up once in a while. Yeah people say "Poke an admin" but they can't be arsed to do it (Can you really blame them though) but if everyone had a job to do it should keep the work down. Here's the problem. The delegations would work in theory, but so does communism. Practically, it will only work if you have every single person in the society dedicated to the job put forth. And, as anyone with priorities can tell you, Uncyc is not (or should not) be the place you're absolutely dedicated to. As heretic as it sounds, Uncyclopedia is just a hobby, and people have RL that makes them tired. This tiredness makes them lazy. This laziness makes the world explode.-Sir Ljlego, GUN VFH FIYC WotM SG WHotM PWotM AotM EGAEDM ANotM + (Talk) 22:19, 21 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, I would be less lazy, but the more energy I use, the more entropy I create, and I'm taking us closer to the Heat Death of the Universe. In 1060 years, when there's nothing but entropy, you'll all say that more people should've been more like me. - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon Baloon.gif(Tick Tock) (Contribs) 00:25, Oct 22
Concur with Ljlego on the delegation point... mostly. Strictly assigning one task to each admin would most likely end up with some (or most) things being ignored, but why not assign multiple areas to each admin, so s|he can perform tasks in whichever area they currently feel like? OR we could delegate things to non-admins that are ready and willing to do some good. --Andorin Kato 00:29, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Somehow I knew this would happen. I spent quite a while during Vigilance Week {{V}} tagging and QVFDing articles in Special:Shortpages, but I was pretty much the only person doing it. Why do people do nothing when we give them the opportunity, then complain about it after Vigilance Week is over? Icons-flag-au.png Sir Cs1987 UOTM. t. c 03:02, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Oops, now I realise you were referring to new pages. I just look at the first 1000 or so pages on Special:Newpages if there is still crap left from a few days ago. Icons-flag-au.png Sir Cs1987 UOTM. t. c 03:41, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Also, I imagine that assigning tasks to admins would actually make things worse, even if you had multiple admins doing one job. I realise QVFD often fills up without us doing anything about it for a few days, but it usually takes less than half an hour to clear out. It's never a huge problem. Entropy, guys, I'm tellin' you now, it's coming... - P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon Baloon.gif(Tick Tock) (Contribs) 03:39, Oct 22

Solution!!1!!!1

Ban new pages. Sig pic.PNG Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 22:50, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

No, ban all anonymous IPs. --Sir Starnestommy Icons-flag-us.png (TalkContribsCUNCapt.) 23:07, October 22, 2007
But then we'll start having to make all the crap pages. The admins want to keep their jobs, no? Sig pic.PNG Unsolicited conversation Extravagant beauty PEEING 23:37, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, they certainly aren't doing their jobs right now. --Sir Starnestommy Icons-flag-us.png (TalkContribsCUNCapt.) 00:22, October 23, 2007
