It Must Be Stopped

I demandbeg that the administrators lock the Russian Reversal until it can be rewritten and judged. Then have it locked down for all eternity there after. Would go nicely with my October Revolution Anniversary idea I had way back when. Spacer.gifSpacer.gifPremierTomMayfairChe.png RedPhone.png Unsoc.png Hammer and sickle.png10:24, 25 July 2007

Yeah, what he said. Roman Dog Bird 22:27, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Oui, c'est une bon idée. Mais, parler en francais est la merde, non? --The Acceptable Thinking cap small.png Cainad Sacred Chao.png (Fnord) 22:40, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Against, that's Larry Sanger talk. Fully protecting an article is not the way to encourage rewriting. Alksubsig.gifAlksub - VFH CM WA RV {talk} 22:46, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
Hence Fisher Price, Euroipods, Goatse, Vandalism, This page does not exist & Red links won't work either, smartass. Just look how lovely they've stayed all this time. Spacer.gifSpacer.gifPremierTomMayfairChe.png RedPhone.png Unsoc.png Hammer and sickle.png11:45, 25 July 2007
Uhhhh... For'. Too many idiot IPs. That, and there's was a recent Edit War. --Lt. High Gen. Grue The Few The Proud, The Marines 23:53, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Proposals can also be made here for other ideas for the upcomin' October Revolution. Spacer.gifSpacer.gifPremierTomMayfairChe.png RedPhone.png Unsoc.png Hammer and sickle.png11:57, 25 July 2007

I'm in favour of protecting all articles and locking the site so no new articles can be created without a full voting process. Also delete all current articles and ban everyone. Users ruin everything. Failing that, at least let Tom Mayfair make this one all purty again. ~ Dame Ceridwyn ~ talk DUN VoNSE arc2.0 12:04, 26 July 2007

I am in favor of partial protection of the article, a rewrite, then inserting a subpage where all the stupid russian reversal quotes can fester, like the You Have Two Cows series, or Chuck Norris. --~ Tophatsig.png

Against. This has come up before. It is what it is. It's both on-topic and informative. Don't blame the page for the poor choices of its editors. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 03:25, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
It at leasts saves the page from becoming total crap based on the poor choices of its editors. --~ Tophatsig.png 03:33, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
It's got enough followers of Yakov watching it that the dreaded crufting so endemic to meme pages is quickly decrufted. That some of the watchers, or "politburo", occasionally disagree is no reason to throw the communist baby out with the Soviet Russian bathwater. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 03:39, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Against locking things What do we think this is, Soviet Russia? Oh, wait... Anyway, occasionally you get a good new RR. Which is then promptly erased by one of the many many other people who watch this article. I think it may have the honour of being one of the most heavily watched pages on Uncyc in fact. Or at least the most difficult to not get something reverted on. I might support a rewrite though, if it was especially brilliant and took account of the fact that Russian Reversals are part of the Uncyc Cultural Heritage™. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 08:28, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
The problem that we have is that the page quickly turns into a mess of cruft without an iron fist in control. An iron heel, if you will, standing on the necks of the petty bourgeois. I'm not against subpages that contain the false RR's of those who hold the keys to the locks that hold the chains around the necks of the proletariat that I lost my train of thought so now I'm just rambling.
