Yes I read the HTBFANJS stuff and I recently got a sucky score on straitjackets because of in-jokes which I have no idea what that means. I mean, I couldn't find any in-jokes. Or maybe because the article is too short. I mean, I notice most people gave good reviews and long jokes with funny gags and being close to the truth. But hey, at least you should have at least two people reviewing your crap.

Anyways, can anyone tell me on these in-joke stuff?--Dark Paladin X 22:34, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

It looks to me like you just got a really shitty and unhelpful review. I'll write one myself, and try to be a bit more helpful. --THE 22:44, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Name for me, verbatim at least one joke per header in that article. Then we'll talk. --Shrooms.jpgShroom!.gifGay2.gifSir Flammable KUN Prince!.gif (Na Naaaaa...)Gay2.gifShroom!.gifShroomirror.jpg 22:49, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Alright, Dark Paladin X, I wrote a new review, that actually included a few suggestions as opposed to insults. (/me glowers at the n00b bashers) I hope it helped. --THE 23:05, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

"In-jokes" is a phase used in two ways on Uncyc, I believe. #1: General in-jokes are references which only readers who are insiders to a particular topic can appreciate. For example, one might write "Jumbo Wales walked into the Wiki and he saw a Frenchman, two WWI aviators, a Mexican rhythm combo, and the Inca Sun God hanging around listlessly. 'No use you coming around,' the Frenchman said, 'Sophia's gone off to the W.C.'" But you don't get the idea unless you've watched that particular episode of Monty Python's Flying Circus. It's an in-joke. Lots of gamer references are in-jokes that aren't particularly interesting to anyone but people who play a particular game. #2: an Uncyc in-joke is one that mostly only Uncyc insiders understand. ...with SAVINGS!! is an example. You could write "huffed like a fluffy kitten" on most forums and nobody will know what you mean; here it means "deleted fast". In-jokes. Use them with great caution, because they play to a very limited audience. ----OEJ 00:14, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

Actually, "huffed like a fluffy kitten" is skater lingo. For example, when you slide halfway down a rail before falling off and shattering your tailbone, you'd have "huffed <that rail> like a fluffy kitten". Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 02:20, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Yep yep. Oh and by the way, I'm a meme now myself. I thoroughly encourage my propagation. --THINKER 23:07, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

You're right, I'm actually the One True Thingerer. Sue me, I'm a William Hurt fan. ;) --THINKER 23:20, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
A world without old jokes is like this clown...Sad, sad clown. He's not even laughing on the inside. That's where he keeps his bourbon.

Yeah, Sorry About That...

I'm usually tired when writing reviews, so what I actually meant by In-Jokes was that you had a whole bunch of stuff about God, Islam and stuff like that. I apologise, but I guess I look like an idiot by now. --Narf, the Wonder Puppy/I support Global Warming and I'm 100% proud of it! 06:01, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

Those are global in-jokes. --THINKER 06:46, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
I wouldn't call those in-jokes, what they are is old jokes, which are somewhat worse IMO. They've been done to death, and just aren't funny anymore. Done or not, we (and by "we" I mean "I") sometimes have to make new jokes based on old religions so that we (again, "I") can laugh a little on the outside. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 19:04, 15 September 2007 (UTC)
Good point, if the old joke has a new spin, then it's ok. But, it's really, really tough to give an old joke enough new spin to make it a good curveball, and strike out the batter. Oh, and it should make people laugh. That too. P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon Baloon.gif(Tick Tock) (Contribs) 19:08, Sep 15, 2007
