I must have been living in an Occidental cave the past several years. I just learned about the Chinese band Tang Dynasty, which I already love, and now X Japan. What can I say, I tend to go for talented/professional singers, and have dated a few. I like long hair on virtually anybody, although hair that sticks up about a foot in the air doesn't do anything for me personally.

All right, enough of my shameful self-indulgence and back to what's important--the music. I'm going to check out more of X Japan. I love how the orchestral version of this song (I've listened to it all the way through twice now) has a completely different feel than the "hard rock" version, and both are different from the piano. Amd for some reason I tend to get into songs that never end, even though some of my favorite songs are short.

As for me being an American, am I? I'll have to check my passport. Besides, America is like 3000 miles across, not counting Alaska and Hawaii. I know, Australia's pretty darn big too. I'd love to see Soundgarden, Green Day, Devo, Blues Traveler and others at Lollapalooza--but the venue is far, far away from me and the cheap tickets are $215. I think you get enough of an idea of the band from the history sections, in the the band members part you start to repeat yourself a little. While it's not a bad part of the article, I just think it would be worth getting rid of for a more manageable length. Of course, it's up to you. Good. I laughed more times than I did reading some featured articles, but that's mainly because it's long, and thus able to contain more jokes. Since you mentioned VFH, I have some main issues. I don't know if they'll affect your VFH contention (seriously, they probably don't...), but just like to point them out to be on the safe side -

• It has sentence structure problems, or I have reading problems. Like you intro, it took me two reads to see the repetition joke, and also two reads to see that Yes, the word in the dictionary was seen by many as over-the-top and self indulgent. I don't know if it's my problem or your problem. If you want to be on the safe side, you know, you may want to reread your whole article out loud to yourself and correct anything that may ruin your joke delivery.

I also don't know if other people will feel the same. I'm actually very lenient on VFH. If you nom it I will vote for.

Less important reasons that have an even lesser chance of affecting your VFH:

• It's long. It looks intimidating. I don't know if I would have bothered to finished it if I hadn't been reviewing.
• Maybe it's because of reading too many prog rock articles, like Prog Rock and HowTo:Write a Progressive Rock Song, I couldn't help feeling that some jokes have been done before. But this can't be helped, can it?

Also, thanks. Reviewing your article helped me shape my article, X Japan. It's probably only moderately funny to 10 people, and utterly humourless to most. Coincidentally, the pre-rewrite version of X Japan had a section about them recording underwater. Anyway, my point was, some of your new jokes (that I've never read, really) reminded me of my own, especially those exaggeration ones. Only yours are aquatic-themed and mine are hair-themed. This is also a continuation of my third point. The good thing is though, you have far more funny jokes than I do. And your band is far more well known than mine. So you'll probably do better. First of all, thanks for the in-depth review! I'm rewriting the article now. I have a few questions/clarifications for you, if you don't mind me asking.

1. "I only give "8"s when an article strikes me as absolutely brilliant stuff, so don't worry that you didn't get an 8." So...does that mean you never give nines or tens? I'm curious if you thought my article was close to really brilliant, or just fairly good.

2. On formatting, yeah, getting the "next" and "previous" buttons where I want them is a real buggy pain. Whenever there's a image remotely close (almost every page), it throws off the "center" tags for them. I don't know how to do the more advanced wiki formatting, so yeah. I agree with you, I just don't know how. As far as "wasn't she pleased!" I tend to read it as more of an exclamation in tone, not a question, and I want to keep that part true to the original work, (which uses an exclamation point), so if you don't mind I think I'll keep that part the same.

3. Images: On the page 3 one, was it the image itself or the caption that you didn't like? Perhaps the whole "innocent racism" tone would be increased with a blatant picture and more innocent caption, especially considering how blatant some of the images on the source material is (blackface, aunt jemima clothing, etc.)

On the page 10 one, the intended joke is again a reference to Little Black Sambo, because instead of gameshow hosts, it's tigers. It's a stupid non sequitur that I thought would work in.

Hmmm, now that I think of it, I've never given 9s or 10s. Not that I've never seen them, of course, but if there's an article that I would give 9s or 10s to, I wouldn't choose to review it, because imo articles like that don't need reviewing. Highest humour score I've given is 8.5. I score very arbitrarily anyway, so don't focus too much on it. Since I last checked this page it seems to have lost its mind. I did marry you, remember? And the next day you filed for an annulment, which was granted in record time. And how are you typing with both arms blown off. Yes, M&M is one of the new guys, as are Magic man, Dancing Dude, and a few others to add to the bunch. They have, as a unit, taken over the role that Why? had and passed on to HELPME (who is now popping his head in and leaving). Were you here when Hyperbole left and then returned as Horace Donald Westenchester (all centered around an article which was disqualified from winning the last Poo Lit Surprise because it was so bad, and then was featured in record time with record numbers and will challenge "A Wizard Did It" for article of the year).
