Should we have a motto? Then we can put it under "Uncyclopedia", just like that Evil Pedia. Or I just don't know that there is a motto? It's gneomI 01:16, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

  • "the content-free encyclopedia that anyone can edit." not good enough for you eh? How about: "SU182 free since 20:44, 27 August 2006", "General Specifi free since 19:25, 15 December 2005", or "Home of the one and only Famine!". --Sir Zombiebaron 01:22, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
  • Home of the one and only Famine sounds good to me. --Uncyclon - Do we still link to BENSON? 01:35, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
So then we can put it below the logo? It's gneomI 03:34, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
If it's not "Spang is awesome" or something similar, it's never going to happen. Spang talk 05:09, 18 Nov 2006
Or we could bring back the {{USERNAME}} meta. Then everyone would be happy. "Welcome to the Official Wiki of <insert name here>". Ok, maybe not so much. --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 06:03, 18 November 2006 (UTC) Meh, stick with "The wiki that anyone can edit". --Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 00:42, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
I was thinking something along the lines of "Hey, we have a BENSON and your wiki doesn't." Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 06:12, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia had one once. --Uncyclon - Do we still link to BENSON? 07:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
I recall that being "We got motherfucking BENSON!!!", Could add some OMG's or BBQ's accompanied with the obligatory WTF's Or even ALL CAPS.But yes, that's the central idea around having a BENSON motto. --Vosnul 09:58, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
Destroying your family since 1843. The only online encyclopedia written by the random squirmings of intestinal parasites. Remember, if you look at BENSON backwards it's BUMVIEW. The name is Information...Miss Information. If <insert name here> is logged on, then Famine has <insert name here> in his sights. (Sorry, everyone picks on Famine but it's just because he's effective.) (But seriously, if the motto is an in-joke like BENSON or Famine then it won't grab new visitors...do we care? No? I thought not.) Uncyc: a veritable dachshund of the information age. Now available in spicy cajun, Uzbek mint, and Tasmanian felch flavours! (Etc. These are really bad. No motto for me, thanks Mater, I'm orff to play the grahnd piahno.) ----OEJ 16:49, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
  • "Do you love comedy? No? Oh, well then I'm sorry to have taken up your time." Although actually, that's not so much a motto as an advert. How about "Per risus adveho ignarus", just cos a good motto should be in latin. --Sir Jam 18:27, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

How about "Our website is better than that other one" or "Come to our site... we have candy!"Benson 19:45, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

I like that second one, actually. —Hinoa KUN (talk) 19:47, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

I'm going to go ahead and say, no, we should not have a motto or something. Mottos are lame. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 22:56, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

Erm, just "From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia". That's all you need, and it works perfectly. It also looks more like the one on Wikipedia. Dawg.gif » Brig Sir Dawg | t | v | c » 00:02, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

LOL! I really like "Where mottos are lame". HAHAHAH, that is perfect, I reckon. It's gneomI 09:30, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

Try:

Hurrah!, Hurrah!

For Sophia, Hurrah!

Hurrah!, Uncyclopedic Flag

That bears a single Spud!

to the tune of Bonnie Blue Flag. Though more of a song, make the chorus a motto; then, perhaps, add additional lyrics to be made into the official song.

Oh, hmm, yeah, hahaha, so this thread is pretty useless then. But I think we can change the motto, can't we? That motto is pretty, hmm, you know, like Wikipedia. It's gneomI 10:43, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Well, that's the general idea, really. ;-) -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 11:00, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

Yo guys! If you're going to have a motto, it should be in Latin and I have just the perfect words fer ye: Pulchritudine sine Misericordia. Here is a Biblefish that translates to Latin: http://www.tranexp.com:2000/Translate/result.shtml (choose the German keyboard or nothing happens). I reached this gem of wisdom with some help from the Belgians. They air a UK soap called "The bold and the Beautiful", which is announced as "Mooi en Meedogenloos" in the TV guide, which means "Beautiful and Mercyless". I kid you not, ask MoneySign, he's a Belgian. Translated to Latin (yes, I am a scholar) this comes out as "Beauty without Mercy" or Pulchritudine sine Misericordia. By the way, if you abbreviate that it becomes PSM which is just a single garble away from a certain awe-and-fear-inducing condition of the female human body. -- di Mario 10:04, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
