At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Tristessa de St Ange/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

Obligatory welcome template, though from what I understand you may have seen it all already... still, principle stands: welcome. Hope you stick around. Not only do you seem lovely, we could really use more people with brains, and your use of sentences indicates that you may be one of them. Also, contrary to what is apparently popular belief, we have a deletion policy, so maybe that'll help with what you were asking on IRC? It could really use an update and possibly some better explanations, but what it says is still at least effectively true. Or something like that. Feel free to ask Zombiebaron if you have any questions; he'll probably be more helpful (or at least faster) than I would as I'm about to violently commit suicide with a bash script and there's no telling what may happen after that. ~

Hello hello and hello again[edit source]
Hey man (woman?), nice to meet you, welcome to the site, and thanks for your very kind comments regarding my onions article. Seriously, it made my day; that article has been languishing on VFH for a while and I was starting to think it was slightly mediocre. Anyway, the main reason I came here is because I just undid all of your contributions to the article and I wanted to apologise. No offence meant but I kind of preferred it the way it was before. But don't let it stop you from improving articles that aren't already so good (goddess knows we always need people of such fine tastes as yourself to do stuff like that).
Also, I haven't taken it out of the UnBooks space, although I kind of want to. To me, an UnBook is a parody of a real book, but I've always seen this article as an article on "where the wild onions grow", if you see what I mean (or more likely, if that makes any sense at all). Your thoughts on that would be appreciated actually.
Anyway, sorry to leave such a massive comment on your talk page, but I'm ever so lonely. Hope you stick around and enjoy the place! We're having a party at Zombiebaron's tomorrow if you want to be my plus one. --Black Flamingo 00:04, November 28, 2011 (UTC)
