WTF?[edit source]
Just one person has written you since you got here??? Enough of that. Let me be the first to whore an article on VFH on your talk page Marilyn Monroe, the first to rape your talk page (rape rape, ah, done), the first to post a pic on your talk page, the first to jump up and down on your talk page, and the first to say thanks for your vote (for Rolex, today's feature. If you didn't vote for it, no problem, I thank you anyway to be first). What do you like to write (I remember voting for a page of yours recently, can't recall the one, they all blend together in my mind like a mad cup of swirling coffee)? Any topic or subject in particular. And good to meet you! Aleister 21:13 20 7 MMX
- You're welcome! (....if I voted....which I probably didn't...). I'm trying to improve the prog-rocky articles on here, starting with Yes, which took me about a year to perfect (because I'm so mind-blowingly fast at writing....) Thanks for the rather late welcome.....and the beetle!
I think I'l name it ringo....--thehallway 21:30, July 19, 2010 (UTC)
- Yes looks like a feature in the next few days sometime. Congrats. I asked a Beatle fan once what she thought of Ringo, and she immediately answered "He's a neccessary evil". Rock stuff, do you know Funnybony? He's our resident real rock star, psychedelic rock in his case. Oh, not a welcome, I know you've been here way over a year, I've just never said hi before. Yeah, Funnybony might be interested in your takes on rock and the period's bands. Aleister 23:03 20 7
- Yes I think I remember reading his article and lolling regularly. (This is where you tell me he didn't write that one....).

“Is Ringo Starr the best drummer in the world??”
thehallway 12:15, July 20, 2010 (UTC)“He isn't even the best drummer in The Beatles...”
A Featured article[edit source]
My year and a bit has paid off!
Next task: rewriting that godawful article on King Crimson..... thehallway 15:58, July 21, 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for supporting my recently featured article.
I, like, appreciate your support, or something.

Contest today, August 2nd (U.S. time) or 3rd (civilized world time)[edit source]
Happymonkey called for a writing contest which will start at 2:00 UTC (10 p.m. eastern time in the United States and other weird countries). Contestents will give each other an exact name of an article at app. 9:59 eastern time, and then we will write until 11:15 (3:15 UTC). We need at least one judge who will look at all the articles, say nay, or yay, or something, and tell us whatever they want to. Please sign up on Happymonkeys talk page, as participant or judge(s), and then we can pair people up around 9:30 eastern and let them know who they will give their page title to. (Inspired by Dr.Skullthumper's contest of a month or so ago). Aleister 16:05 2 8
Yes[edit source]
I saw your request of Mordillo as I was having a conversation earlier on his talk page. You can rollback an article to any point in history by clicking the History tab, selecting an old version by date, and clicking on the Edit tab. You'll be warned that anything you save will discard all newer edits.
Should you do so? Perhaps first, contact the other user (you can't if he's I.P. Anon) and advise him of what you intend to do and try to work together--or explain your revert on the article's talk page (accessible via the Discussion tab).
I sympathize with you, both as an ardent Yes fan and as a writer of articles attempting serious humor that get visited by a practitioner of what we call "randumbo." However, I read the Yes page many months ago, before it was featured, and saw that it relied heavily on puns played on song titles--an invitation to schoolchildren everywhere to leave their droppings on it. (I briefly browsed the current version (reflecting work by you and the vandal) and it is funnier than I remember it.) Spıke ¬ 12:11 13-Aug-10
- Thanks; from what I've seen, the article has simply been vandalised (and it is by an unregistered user I believe). I will check through, for the slim chance that the guy has written something remotely humourous, but I'll probably end up deleting the lot. Before today, the article was pretty much in its featured form, which took me about a year to perfect (along with the occasional immense sentence from other users). I intend to [slowly] bring other prog rock articles to the same standard. thehallway 13:07, August 13, 2010 (UTC)
Power to you! Since I wrote, Mordillo did indeed restore your article as requested. You can still use the history (for example, diff'ing Mordillo's change against the immediately previous version) to see if there were any pearls. I recall reading the liner notes of (Re-)Union, about how band members got an artistic epiphany after a chance meeting, and thinking it begged satire treatment, as there might not just have been bass clefs but dollar signs in their eyes. Then I discovered Uncyclopedia, and the Yes article, and found it in sorry shape; and I didn't know enough of the band's history to do similar justice throughout, as you now have. As I said to other users, apologies for any formatting issues this may cause. Appreciated your support in educating the world about the color beige. User:Mrthejazz/sig 03:15, August 28, 2010 (UTC)
