Protection

Okay, so now that our little edit war is over, could you protect Template:TopStoryTemplate and Template:SidebarStoryTemplate? Please don't lock the main page yet, I've got some modifications to make.

I'm off home now so you can undo all my changes :-) if you still want it protected I can do that then, we do try and shy away from protection stuff however. --Sir Elvis KUN | Talk 16:50, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)
I really see no reason to have very static, prominent templates editable. There's just too much a vandal could mess up. The idea behind the second-level templates (Template:FirstTopStory and the like) is to have something that lets people easily update the page without giving them ability to vandalize a lot. General Specific 16:53, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)
True but we like to encourage playing and most changes can be easily reverted. About the only thing protected is the main page and a few spam targets. --Sir Elvis KUN | Talk 16:57, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)

New Summaries and Othernews

These use the content of Current events to make maximum reuse of existing content and so as not to piss off people who already edit it. --Sir Elvis KUN | Petition 16:01, 5 Aug 2005 (UTC)

UnNews

After thinking about it I think I see where you were going with the Stories template, I've copied your most recent version to Uncycnlopedia:UnNews/Development and started tryng to work out exactly what I think we need to do, can you pitch in as well. Cheers --Sir Elvis KUN | Petition 10:15, 6 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Praise

That Free Epilepsy Test was inspired. I'm sending you $20 c/o General Delivery, Your Town, Your State, Your Zip. --Marcos Malo 00:15, 9 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Unused image

Are you going to use Image:Bad.png, or shall I huff it? It's been pending since the 6th?

It's a high-res version of Image:Bad_Small.png I put up in case anyone wanted one.
OK. I've modded the page so that the large version shows up. This means Image:Bad.png will no longer be listed as homeless. --Gay2.gifIMBJRGay2.gif 22:04, 31 Aug 2005 (UTC)

Upon inspecting the images by size, I found we had three 1x1 pixel images. I've deleted one unused one, and Image:Spacer.gif is the newer and less-used of the two left (the other being Image:No image.png. I've changed over all the occurances of "spacer" to "no image" (nothing personal, the png was here longer, it is used in more places, and png is a preferred open format, although I personally like the name of "spacer.gif" better), so I'd like to ask if it is ok to go ahead and delete it? There are still some pages that link to it, but I think that is just a cache problem. --Splaka 00:23, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC)

Carefull spacer.gif is probably used deep within the MediaWiki code and/ro CSS as it's a reasonably standard way of doing some things in HTML I wouldn't delete it if I was you. --The Right Honourable Maj Sir Elvis UmP KUN FIC MDA VFH Bur. CM and bars UGM F@H (Petition) 06:49, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC)
Hmmm, that specific one has only been around two months, and the url: /images/5/52/Spacer.gif doesn't seem deep (not in /skins), seems a standard uploaded file at the present location. I can't see it in any Special:Allmessages, nor on the source of any pages nor any external js or css files (only checked monobook). I think deleting the uploaded file wouldn't have any effects. If there is another file called spacer.gif that is crutial to the operation of this wiki, I probably wouldn't be able to delete it anyway, I think? --Splaka 07:06, 30 Sep 2005 (UTC)
That one is used to make UnNews articles imageless. General Specific 15:05, 1 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Quote Flood

I'm trying to discourage people from dropping piles of Ballmer and Kanye quotes on this site. If you can work them into the article, great, but otherwise we're starting to drown in them. We now have Template:Killquote which is a generic "kill this guy" template which has the advantage of being randomized, so that we aren't seeing one quote on hundreds of pages.

So, if you could be so kind, if you have a place which would make Ballmer's quote pant-wetting funny, go ahead and use it. If you just want a "funny kill this thing" quote use ((Killquote)), which gives us a little more variety. The added benefit is that we can just change the template if a quote gets old, instead of editing a hundred pages with that quote on it. --Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 23:00, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

You are curst

You have been curst by The Cursed Uncyclopedia Article. I urge you to add Template:CursedUser somewhere on your user page or talk page! --Nerd42 22:12, 26 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Say ... uh ... how bout we delete old 543 because I've gone and added your bits to my bits to make the page better ... OK? --Nerd42 22:27, 26 Oct 2005 (UTC)

Decision

Regarding our earlier conversation:

<_KP_> I think that you could put that energy into some positive contributions on Uncyclopedia.
<General_Specific> never
<_KP_> So, is Uncyclopedia unimportant to you?
<General_Specific> the day i make a legitimate contribution is the day you stop being annoying

Is this what you have decided? I will miss your presence here. l hope that you will change your mind. --KP CUN 00:15, 6 Nov 2005 (UTC)
