UnNews:UnNews editorial note (May 30, 2019)
Friday, May 31, 2019
Good evening. I assume most of you are camped out in line to see Avengers: Endgame, Aladdin, Rocketman, Godzilla, or even Octavia Spencer's Ma. Or maybe you're catching up on Game of Thrones. Or debating whether Mueller exonerated Trump in Wednesday's press conference. Seriously, people, Mueller said Trump's guilty as sin. Back to your lives, people. And don't spoil Godzilla; I'm seeing it tomorrow.
The reason I'm writing this article is to make note of another UnNews editorial change, another one so subtle you'll probably have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about, like when an audiophile raves about the benefits of high resolution or analog/vinyl. Only this time, I have a record player and can vouch for its sound quality, even though I haven't played a record since maybe February.
You may be aware of MediaWiki's history of fucking up its logo handling, starting with version 1.30 back in February 2018. Uncyclopedia's first temporary fix, courtesy of yours truly, was to place the UnNews logo (or whatever custom logo suited the story) at the top center of new articles. Then The Pioneer created the Fakelogo template to solve this problem. However, in good old 2019, it was fucking up the site notice; and this is a very important one -- Welcome Wikia/Fandom users to uncyclopedia.co and being one big happy family. With a great big hug and...
...Something. Anyway, Aimsplode gave me a heads up on our Discord server, that Uncyclopedia was finally working on a fix:
“@Aladdin Sane thanks to the big brains of @dill and @(Kev D) [MC] your UnNews namespace now finally has the right logo again across all pages, and you no longer need to use the fakelogo template.”
Yes! Thank You, (deity of your choice: God, Allah, Buddah, Jehova, Zeus, Jupiter, Odin, Ronnie James Dio)!
You were never going to notice this anyway, but I just thought I'd make a note of it just in case you actually gave a shit, or only came here to hear some Kool & the Gang. Now back to your mundane, boring lives, people.
Update (Saturday, June 1st, 2019): The {{Logo}} template has also been fixed, thanks to yours truly, so some pages which were partially broken due to the use of the Logo template have been fixed. However, the Logo template remains deprecated, Fakelogo being the better newer option.
