Commercial brake - merge[edit source]

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!

That totally destroyd the meta-joke on the original page! The present entry commits the sin of explaining a joke

Please restore Commercial Brake to it's original status. --Suresh simple.png Swami A. Suresh 21:13, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

Maybe we could come to some sort of compromise. There's really no sense in having two articles about the same thing, so I went to go for a merge of "Commercial Break" and "Commercial". I really liked the joke on the "Commercial Break" page, so I tried to keep it and expand on it, by somehow integrate it with the other page. --EMC [TALK] 21:55, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

A commercial is a commercial. A brake is a brake. The Commercial brake page was a commercial Brake in the ordinary uncyclopedia misinformation flow. The Commercial page is an explanation about what a commercial is, on top of it an explanation that contains facts.--Suresh simple.png Swami A. Suresh 07:34, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

By the Way , Baile Átha Cliath is the same city as Dublin , spelled in Irish. I made it a separate city with an own entrance. Do you think those two paged should be merged for the sake of clarity? If some made a page named Baile Atha Cliath a merge could be motivated --Suresh simple.png Swami A. Suresh 07:34, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

Hey, you. Quit it with the flamewar before it even begins. I can guarantee that if this ever escalates, it'll be your ass that gets burned, not e|m|c's. Truth is, there was a reason this needed to be rewritten. Now it's a high-quality article on the fast-track to feature. You're in the wrong here, so get over it and move on.-Sir Ljlego, GUN VFH FIYC WotM SG WHotM PWotM AotM EGAEDM ANotM + (Talk) 16:20, 8 July 2007 (UTC)
No way, let 'em flamewar! Psst, Suresh, e|m|c was on the IRC talking about your mother! Are you gonna let him get away with that???
But seriously, Ljlego is right. P.M., WotM, & GUN, Sir Led Balloon Baloon.gif(Tick Tock) (Contribs) 21:25, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Flame war - up yours. I just erased my contributions from your lousy wrapping. --Suresh simple.png Swami A. Suresh 05:35, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Reverted. --EMC [TALK] 06:30, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
Suresh, please. Don't make me bring an admin into this. I didn't think you were still on about this. Look, it's a wiki. Nearly everything is fair game. The people of Uncyclopedia have expressed a penchant for this article. It was featured with a score of 18. That's a pretty good consensus. It was written by a Writer of the Month. It's not unfunny. In fact, it's very funny. I'm sure you're insulted because your contributions were largely ignored, but here's an idea: move on. I guarantee it'll make you feel better to just start a new article and see that one grow.-Sir Ljlego, GUN VFH FIYC WotM SG WHotM PWotM AotM EGAEDM ANotM + (Talk) 03:41, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
I preserved as much material as I could during the merge between the two articles. Sorry to have ruined the delivery. I understand the "meta-joke" on the original page, and I wish I could've preserved it as well. I do many rewrites, and very rarely do any editors come forward. If you'd like, I'd be more than happy to split the credit for this article with you. But, as for the article itself, the material currently on it has to stay based on consensus. --EMC [TALK] 05:05, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
Featured? When? Pfft. Anyway - that ties me down by the gruelsome burden of public vote. Anyway - I stole the purgatory washing powder idea from a swedish cartoonist and the karma cola picture from an actual indian novel - so who cares? But I do miss the meta joke. And I still think the examples in the featured article smells of joke explanation.--Suresh simple.png Swami A. Suresh 09:06, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
