Forum:Do/can we have an auto-Ban Patrol script?
The fact that we have an auto-QVFD script (which is an amazing script, by the way) makes me wonder whether we can have an auto-BP script. As nearly as I can determine it would function similarly to auto-QVFD; a tab at the top you click to start the script, a comment box pops up... the script detects whether the user is an IP or a registered user and adds the appropriate template, your comment (which probably should be mandatory) and your sig to Ban Patrol. I think it would improve efficiency, because manually adding troublesome IPs and users to BP can be a little cumbersome, much like individually adding articles to QVFD would be if not for the auto-QVFD script. If I knew how, I would create this script myself, but I don't, so I can't. --Andorin Kato 00:26, November 9, 2009 (UTC)
- In my imagination, some admins have a block script that displays an option to block people next to their names in edit histories. Like, (talk | contribs | block). I imagine that can be combined with the QVFD script to allow people to easily list people on BP. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 00:39, November 9, 2009 (UTC)
- That's a third-party script? I thought it was a part of the wiki itself. Ah, what do I know. --Andorin Kato 00:40, November 9, 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's part of the wiki, though I could have a script and just not realize it. - T.L.B. WotM, UotM, FPrize, AotM, ANotM, PLS, UN:HS, GUN 02:21, Nov 9
- My script automatically blocks people. It doesn't even discriminate. It. Just. Blocks. The only reason I haven't disabled it is because I'm terrified that it would turn on me. I've gotten on the tiger and can't get off. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 03:50, November 9, 2009 (UTC)

- Village Idiot (Villuj Ideeut? Villege Ideot? Villuj Idiot?) made the script, if I remember correctly. Probably wouldn't take but a few tweaks here and there to come out with a new one. Don't think he's active though. -- Also, penis. 03:57, November 9, 2009 (UTC)
- Ah Ha! There he is! Yeah, hasn't contributed since January. But I think he may be hanging around freenode somewhere. -- Also, penis. 03:59, November 9, 2009 (UTC)
