Forum:An IP's opinion on Uncyclopedia
I may be but a simple IP but I have browsed upon both sites and my god... It's not terrible to say the least, there's at least an active community over here but almost every constant second it's a battle between which parody wiki is better; Uncyclopedia or Uncyclowikia and I hear talks about grabbing users from one site to the next or their definition of humor. I'm not claiming to take sides here but I shouldn't have to take a side, in fact I shouldn't have to guess which user/admin is going to be an asshole at which site; in my opinion there shouldn't be any acknowledgement of that wiki nor any attempts at sabotage. It is very unfortunate that there are two wikis with the same name.
Same goes for this wiki.
I have also noticed that there isn't much writing. I'm guessing it has to do with the fact that there isn't much of an environment for writing. As the time goes on the possibilities become endless but the site seems to be getting less and less relevant because of the shifting trends of the internet; in fact many of these seem to have heavy amounts of internet humor instead of the wide variety of humor this site is supposed to have and as the people who traffic this site because of the internet lessen; so do potential writers. We need an environment that welcomes writers, that doesn't force them to be on a system where kings are kings and loyal subjects are loyal subjects. They should be free to write without any shackles, without any ranking system and without any fear whatsoever. They shouldn't have to be forced to try to create the best article in the world.
As for awards, I don't know if they go the site any good; I mean sure you get the recognition and the rank but then again; the Oscars and the Grammies do it all the time and they become fixated on the awards rather than the content. I'm not saying get rid of awards entirely but they should be used as a form of gratitude, not as a form of competition. It's like the bloodshed of the sport is some form of excitement and those users are just lusting for it.
So in a nutshell, less infighting, more nurturing and less ranks. Hopefully this will make both places better.

- Yeah, we don't need anything well-reasoned here. Also, we're free to write whatever the fuck we please. See UnBooks:The approximate adventures of RandomMan for reference. -- Style Guide 08:35, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- IP's rank the lowest, like mud dwellers, and if I were an IP I'd do myself harm. If you were a potential writer, that's another story, we'd give you awards and you would be a king. Now you are not even a subject, but like an insect on the back door, seeing light and trying to get in. And you say "so in a nutshell", like it sums up your entire statement. Why didn't you just say that in the first place if you were going to play the nutshell card? Now go and write and create the best article in the world, then you can lecture us on what award you want to win. Aleister I don't know what time it is, 22:52-3-'13

- And very much also this: where isn't there an environment for writing? Just fucking write. -- Style Guide 10:59, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
- I agree about the in-fighting, I think it's a waste of time and energy. The wikia site is not going to disappear unless ALL the writers leave to come here and the main page is replaced with a link to this one. And if this site goes under, I suspect many of the admins will not go back to the wikia page due to all the bad blood, so there's no gain to be made in punching each other in the arm. I also agree that the "hierarchy" is possibly off-putting in prospect for new writers, but the reality is, as other uses have said above, you can completely ignore it and just write. - Since Leverage is being an adult about your forum, I guess I can be a teenager at least. As I see it the two sites are two towns on the same island, and there is no reason to see them as two separate sites. All my pages written there come here immediately. So the reality of it is that the wikia site has this stupid no trespassing sign out front that you have to ignore, and lots of boobs and cocks are gone. But they aren't closing up, so I figure that's it's our home too so let's keep the lights on. I don't see almost any in-fighting. As for writing, lots of people can't read or write anymore, and think a short story comes in at 140 characters. That's not our fault, as we have literate pages here (see UnBooks:The Night I Slept With Bjork - since I can't see search choices I don't know if that will link). And since you seem able to put a couple of words together, please join us in this adult playground if you'd like, on both sites if you have the temperment, and give it a go. Good to meet you, Aleister awhile later that same day

- Hey! The last time you asked to be nurtured I somehow ended up breastfeeding you. You're not fooling me again, pervert. And the last thing we want is to "make both places better". We're like that guy in that Batman movie; "Some men just want to watch the world burn". We're Alfred. Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 16:35, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
