User talk:Apage
Welcome![edit source]
Hello, Apage, and welcome to Uncyclopedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If not, the door's right over there... no, a little more to your left... yeah. You seem to have a sense of humor, but to be sure that it corresponds to the kind humor that is accepted on this site I suggest checking out the following links:
- Beginner's Guide - A massive guide about how to be the best you can be at Uncyclopedia. I've honestly never read the whole thing in one sitting myself, but it is very useful if you're looking for help on a specific issue.
- Our Vanity Policies - This page details why we don't care about your friends, your school, your gay fourth period math teacher, or the homework he has you do, and in-jokes. DO NOT violate this policy.
- How to be funny and not just stupid - Our flagship link. This will tell you how to not get booed off the metaphorical stage that is Uncyclopedia. I STRONGLY suggest reading the entire thing through, perhaps more than once.
- Uncyclopedia:Best of - For a bit of inspiration. These are our featured articles. This is the kind of stuff we like to read around here.
Now that that's out of the way, take a look to your right, and you'll notice some more links, these ones are about help in general:
- About Uncyclopedia and The five pliers of Uncyclopedia
- How to get started editing on uncyclopedia
- Help Pages - if you need help with a specific issue
At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but I do recommend it, it can be quite enjoyable, and it's a good chance to let others take notice of your writing. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Apage/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. I hope you enjoy editing here and being an Uncyclopedian, and remember: Have fun with it. We're all here to have a good time and a good laugh. Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button () above the edit box. Again, welcome!

Hea[edit source]
Well, I think I mentioned, but I think your article is pretty good. Just to let you know that's it's more than fine to pester me (on my talk page) if ever you need assistance with anything. Congrats again on the article. MrN 21:06, Feb 3
- Oh, I nominated you for this thing. It a trick we use to try and convince our better new users into hanging around our rather nice
cultwiki... Oh, you might want to put something on your user page. Or not, mine used to just have a wildebeest on it for ages, but that's really not important right now... MrN 21:18, Feb 3
Hey man[edit source]
So you're the one that wrote the section about the fictional self-endangering animals in Endangered species, right? Well, the problem is, that section doesn't really fit right with the rest of the article. You're free to create it as a new article and link it from the see also section at Endangered species, but as it stands, the part you're re-adding doesn't really belong in that article. 11:34, 3 December 2011
- Rubbish. A self endangered species is still endangered.
- I'm not saying they wouldn't be endangered as well, I'm saying that what you wrote clashes with the original article, in matters of flow and continuity. So what I propose is that you create your own separate article about self-endangering animals and if you wish you can link it from the see also section at Endangered species. 11:43, 3 December 2011
Bullshit. It improves it significantly. Hence the fact it has lasted so long. Now you seem to have quite a history of trying to start revert wars. Wheras I have a history of submitting articles.
- Is it so hard to believe that the style of the original article and the style of what you wrote don't mix well? That's all I'm saying. Now please try being a bit more reasonable about this so I won't have to ban you. 11:55, 3 December 2011
Go ahead and ban me. The article was LAME beyond comparison. If you think it was funny then you really should not be an admin. If you ban me, however, you will also do me the favour of deleting ALL my contributions to this site as well. Ok?
- I'm not saying that what you wrote wasn't funny. I'm saying that the style of the original article and the style of what you wrote beneath it didn't fit well together. You acknowledging that you didn't think the original article was funny only affirms this. So what's wrong with my solution of splitting your part off to a separate article? 12:06, 3 December 2011
It would not stand on its own as a seperate article. "Self endangered species"? Who's going to google that? Besides creating a whole article would involve stuff like getting photographs, cross referencing and lot of other stuff. And for something that is needlessly being wrenched out of context, for no real reason apart from personal taste, it simply isn't worth the effort.
However if you think the material warrents a whole new article you are perfectly free to construct one for yourself. The history will speak for itself.
- It wouldn't be the first article with a peculiar title we'd have around here. And if you'd want your article to be noticed, you could always nom it on VFH (if you consider it of sufficient quality to be featured). Also, this isn't just because of my personal taste. The revert back to the 2008 version happened because of a VFD vote. 12:31, 3 December 2011
If you feel the subject "self-endangered species" warrents a whole article, write it yourself, find photos for it yourself and present it yourself. There have been no complaints for two years about my edits to that page. There was some minor vandalism done which I also reverted. To me, its old material worth fighting for, but not revisiting in depth. In the meantime if you can tell me how I go about deleting all my contributions to the site I would be grateful.
- Well, if there are articles authored by you (with no significant portions written by other people) that you want to see deleted, you can request their deletion on Uncyclopedia:QuickVFD. Just add the article title to the list and add " - Author request." behind it. 12:54, 3 December 2011
What about profile deletion?
- You mean your user page? You can request its deletion there too. 13:27, 3 December 2011
