At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Änjelajs/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! ~Sir Frosty (Talk to me!) 05:19, November 26, 2011 (UTC)

Alohä[edit source]
I think that's how to say hello in Swedish. Just thought I'd drop you a quick line about the review I did on Gay Hitler. Someone pointed out to me that I came across as a bit of a bastard, and in re-reading it that's a fair call. The truth is that there are some elements in there that show you have a natural inclination for comedic writing, which is actually a fantastic thing to see. I'd suggest you don't get disheartened by one bad review. A bad review is not a reflection on you. And in this case you may have been caught in the terrible trap that is the changing standards of Uncyclopedia.
Going back 5 years ago, that article would have been considered fantastic. On some other comedy wikis it probably still would be. Uncyclopedia has change over time though - hopefully for the better - so that articles have to be brilliant to be considered good. Some of the articles that I absolutely adore have been deleted or worse as a result of this.
But your advantage is that you can write in a comedic manner. Your work on User:Änjelajs/Devil May Cry (video game series) proves it. If ever you want a hand in taking your work up a notch, feel free to ask any regular writers around here. And if they pick on you, let me know, and I'll beat them up. Pup 09:12 15 Feb '12
- From "I, Änjelajs (Angel Eyes for you Anglo-Saxons). As admin on a foreign Uncyclopedia I have no hesitations to pull the trigger..." something tells me this dude knows what's what. NotM is probably not valid considering, but I'm not going to tell Tasmania :-) MrN 14:08, Mar 29
- We've had NotM precedent on this before. And my thinking is that it's to encourage new users to Uncyc. He/she/it is still a new Uncyc user. And hello again! Nominally Humane! 09:29 29 Mar

I hope you won't take anything personally about your article getting dismantled on VFD. Video games are notoriously hard to write funny articles about. If you would like, you can request that it be moved to your user space, and if you decide that you want advice on how to improve it, you can also get it pee-reviewed. But keep your chin up. My first article got absolutely excoriated on VFD (7 votes for deletion, with unanimous agreement that it was awful crap). Heck, I try to improve articles on VFD all the time, and it gets them deleted quicker. ~ Sun, Jul 15 '12 16:26 (UTC)
- Yeah, bands and video games are two really hard subjects to write about. I hope I didn't hurt your feelings; I just don't think it's very funny. Saberwolf116 (talk) 01:43, July 16, 2012 (UTC)
- No, it's OK. It's just that when I got this to write about I didn't knew anything about this game, I still don't, haven't even played it. It was my first article, written in just one day and roughly sporked from wikipedia. I mainspaced to see if it could be done better, I don't know what more work to do with it either. If it's worth deleting I won't mind (altough I've seen much worse (at least in my taste) around here). Änjelajs (talk) 12:54, July 16, 2012 (UTC)
- Well, if you see 'em, VFD 'em. There's a lot of bad crud that deserves to go away and be hidden forever, especially the "gamecruft". ~ Mon, Jul 16 '12 12:56 (UTC)
