Scared?

Don't be scared around here - there are very few scary users here. Honest! And as to comedy writing, well, we all suck at that when we start. My first serious contribution was to add something to one of the You Have Two Cows pages. The only way to get the hang of it is to do some. Maybe look for a page tagged with rewrite to get you started - generally speaking, no-one's going to shout at you if you pick one of those up - we'll more likely be grateful someone's having a go at improving it. If you're still nervous, create a copy in your userspace such as User:Darthmat/bad example and edit there - no-one will stop you. You can ask OptyC, me, or other experienced users for help, and use Pee Review to get some helpful feedback on what to improve. Don't forget to have a good look at HTBFANJS - despite the name, we're not implying you're stupid, it's some really handy tips most of us still refer to. OK, sigs: The best plan, as with much around here, is to find one you like, steal it, and change it to your own. Create it somewhere like User:Darthmat/sig here, and then we can sort it out in your preferences. Popular sigs to steal include Ghelae's and Mhaille's, but look through the forums, find one you think looks cool, and give me a shout, we can get something good set up fairly sharpish.

Templates: most of the templates already in existence here can be found somewhere under Uncyclopedia:Templates. Creating a new one is normally a case, again, of finding one you like, shamelessly stealing the code, creating your own template, and playing around with the code until you like what you have. It's always advisable to start new stuff in your userspace, for instance at User:Darthmat/template, but once it's ready, it can be moved to the Template space and is then ready for adding. Template:Scottish is the one you mentioned, so have a look at the code for that. And it gets included by using {{template:Scottish}}. Hope that helps a bit! --SirU.U.Esq. Cool, good luck. Another answer for you: you didn't phail, but there's a template for the "were you looking for" thingy - the one you could have used on that Ignorance page was {{whoops|Americans|}}. As to the random images, there's this "choose" code:

That's the code I use for my images. Just replace the images with ones you want, and use as many option tags as necessary. Just remember: if you open a tag, you close a tag. Dr. Skullthumper might look at you funny if you don't! ;-)

Skullthumper is a really good guy who wrote a bunch of really funny articles around here. It does not seem to suck. That's a good thing. You might want to put {{subst:NOSUBST| before your sig in preferences, though. Also, you may want to learn how to move a page. Erasing one page and copying its contents to another isn't the way you do it. Stuff

Good morning Darthmat. I see you've been busy! Just thought I'd mention a couple of things as I'm passing: First, about new articles: it's good to see you start an article of your own - have fun with that! You might want to consider putting the {{construction}} tag on it when you start, to make sure people know you're working on it, and to ensure trigger happy admins (not that we have any, of course, this is purely hypothetical!) don't delete it.

Second, your edit to my article - I have reverted it. Not because I think it sucks as such - it was an interesting idea, and made me smile - but more because it didn't fit where you put it (step one needs to follow the intro because of how the last line of the intro leads into the first line of step one - putting something in between kills the joke). Also, that article is possibly a bit long as it is. Don't let it put you off editing, as I say, I like the idea, it shows you have funny ideas, but just watch where you put them (a general rule is to be careful what you do to featured articles, as they're already seen as being fairly decent - if you want to edit one of my articles, knock yourself out on PE Teacher - that still needs a lot of work!

And one tiny little tip for the School Survival article - don't go for the ludicrously long numbers, people tend to get put off by them, as they're obviously daft - a figure large enough to be obviously exaggerated but not massively over the top is generally preferable. Thanks. :D I've been SO busy with schoolwork lately, sorry I haven't been able to talk. School-Survival is what I am working on ATM. It's no where near being, with so many members to do; on top of my schoolwork. I did experience some problems, however. Some of the images I want on that page are small in width, and the comments I want to put on them with the 'Image:thumb|<comment>' thing are to wide, so i looks awful and I had to take them out of the image. Any way to fix this?
