A Baptist kills a Lutheran because the Bible told him to; sounds reasonable.

WITCHITA, Kansas -- Doctor George Tiller, 67, was serving as an usher during morning services Sunday when he was shot in the foyer of Reformation Lutheran Church, police said. Tiller was one of a handful of doctors in the US who perform so-called "late-term abortions", which are legal in all 50 states when the mothers' life is endangered by the foetus. A loving family man, he was a longtime resident of Kansas, and was involved with many charities, often donating his services to the indigent.

The anti-abortion group Kansas Coalition for Life took credit for the shooting. On their website www.BatFuckSelfImportant.org spokesperson Shelby Anathema says, "This is only the beginning. Abortion doctors must die to save innocent lives! We demand all abortionists stop their sinning at once. The power of Christ compels you!"

The suspect, identified by one law enforcement agency as Scott Roeder, was taken into custody some 170 miles away in a Kansas City suburb about three hours after the shooting.

Sedgwick County District Attorney Nola Foulston indicated that charges will not be filed Monday. Foulston noted that the state has 48 hours to charge anyone who is in custody and said she planned to take the full two days to decide. She said any charges would be filed in state court.
