Apparently some moron doesn't like what I said, and they blanked my page. Took me a minute but I figured out how to restore it.

It's hard to write a satirical article about a satire. This isn't bad, it just needs expansion.--Samael775 01:48, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

I agree, this is really well done.

Was the...[edit source]

Was the part saying this article is funnier than Family Guy necessary? In my opinion Family Guy is one of the greatest shows, thus I think tthat part should be reomived. -Heradite

Why of course it was necessary. This is a satire. If ya don't like it, well... don't read it. --71.183.84.51 17:53, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Family Guy...[edit source]

Is NOT a Simpsons ripoff! It's better than the Simpsons!

Here's how I see it. Family Guy is not a ripoff, but it's pretty similar. Seasons Three through Seven or maybe even Eight and Nine of The Simpsons are far better than the entire Family Guy series. Now, it's been at least a year since I last watched Family Guy. It should never have been brought back. The new episodes are fucking awful. I gave up at least halfway into the fourth season and never looked back. I recall liking some of the first three seasons, but it's been so long since I last watched it, I might not even like the series anymore. Roman Dog Bird 02:47, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
It's not so much that it shouldn't have been brought back as it shouldn't have been cancelled in the first place. ; ) -- Kip the Egg Easter egg.gif Talk Easter egg.gif Works Easter egg.gif 03:43, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Dude! I agree with you 100 fucking percent!! That's the exact same situation I had a couple years back. Like you, I loved the first 3 seasons of Family Guy, and when I heard they were coming back, I couldn't wait. So I started watching the first few eps of season 4 and was like, "Yeah, that's pretty funny, whatever," but then I remember watching subsequent season 4 eps and thinking, "Um, it could be just me, or this show is getting progressively worse and too random for its own sake." In my opinion, Seth MacFarlane totally blew it and jumped the shark when he decided to add a second chicken fight to one of the new eps. It was NOT funny at all, it was boring, and I thought, "Wow, this is fucking retarded." So I stopped watching the new Family Guy and never bothered to see it again. And the fact that everybody in my school won't shut up about Family Guy, that just killed it for me. Now I can't even watch the old episodes again without feeling uneasy.

All right! *high five!!!* Roman Dog Bird 02:24, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Uh, I hope that wasn't cynical.... well, here I go then, *high five!!!*

Family Guy is fucking kickass, don't ever slag off Family Guy.

SIMPSONS ARE A CLASSIC, AND FAMILY GUY IS NOT A RIPOFF! THINK STRAIGHT! WHICH CAME OUT FIRST, AND ARE THEY REALLY ALIKE??? NO! COME SEE ME IF YOU THINK DIFFERENT..........

Sort of a Simpsons rip-off, but not really[edit source]

Family Guy does steal a lot of stuff from the Simpsons, it really does. Even the idea behind it is based off of the Simpsons. However, if you look really, really closely you'll see that both shows are on the same network, so in all fairness the entire show is just Fox recycling jokes and ideas. Why do you think that both are on at about the same time? Every channel does it sometimes, so even though I love Simpsons (yes, even the new season) I watch Family Guy all the time, and I'm fine with the fact that it shamelessly copies the best comedy ever made; who wouldn't? P.S. If anyone doesn't remember the dozens of times Family Guy featured jokes that appeared on the Simpsons years before, go to Youtube and look up 'Family Guy steals from the Simpsons' they show most, but not all, of them.

If Family Guy was a Simpsons rip off then it wouldn't be funny[edit source]

But people think it is. Who is the idiot who single handedly keeps editing the page to attack the show, is your childhood hurt by the fact no one cares about the Simpsons anymore and everyone thinks Family Guy is funnier? And this idiotic remark that the humor is never relevant to the plot. I had no idea there was a formula and rules for humor. Maybe that's why The Simpsons hasn't been good in more than 10 years. – Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.240.123.229 (talk • contribs)

But this is Uncyclopedia.. This is supposed to parody the fact that Family Guy is supposedly a ripoff of The Simpsons. --Nekami 14:36, 9 March 2008 (UTC)
Point is moot. This article is not funny. A funny article could be based on either position (FG {a} rips off Simpsons and sucks, or {b} is unprecendented, original, and never sucks), and crybaby fanboys would have no case for objection. However, this subject matter attracts ninja/cyborg/CIA/immense/random/explosions/witless/pubescent/overkill edits, so good luck with that. / A hog staring at a wristwatch 15:44, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

Largely unfunny[edit source]

This article has a little potential in there, I mean this whole CIA-Nixon administration-manatee thing is essentially satire of the random humour present in Family Guy.

But the rest of it seems to me to be not so very subtle, opinionated commentary on Family Guy as either a rip-off of The Simpsons or trying way too hard to be funny:

"...praised by project coordinators for its highly original concept - an animated show that was to feature an obese, pea-brained father figure married to an attractive workaholic wife, along with a badly behaved son, unpopular daughter and highly intelligent baby."

If that isn't a direct, yet slightly inaccurate, implication that Family Guy is a rip-off of The Simpsons, then Chuck Norris really does drive an ice-cream truck covered in human skulls.

I would go on a really big editing bash and get this article up to the standards (yes, this place has standards) that Uncyclopedia requires, but I have neither the time nor the creative ability to get this up to the standards.

It needs to be sorted.--Throbber 01:52, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

I don't know what the fuck this shit is, but I know it's not funny. Even the stuff I hate isn't funny. Are the people that write this shit the retarded rejects of Encyclopædia Dramatica? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 124.180.230.183 (talk • contribs) 7:26, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Seriously. Someone really needs to make this page a LOT funnier. STEVE HOLT!

I was under the belieff that Uncyclopedia articles were meant to be funny. I shouldn't be surprised, after all, this article was written by a fan of Family Guy. More facts about Family Guy[edit source]

  • Lois' ethnicity is Jewish. She has a hook nose, also a "semitic" face, grew up with money in a German blue-blood family (Rothschild?), talks like a freakin' 1960's leftist liberal, also has a New York Fran Drescher-like accent, a nagging empowered Jewish woman complex and was raised a Protestant Christian...then again Jews are a "race".
  • Peter was diagnosed as mentally retarded, which explains everything about him.
  • Peter's father is NOT his real dad, he went to Ireland to find him. He drinks, fights, sings, dances and all the other Irish stereotypes.
  • Chris was adopted, after Meg (accidentally) killed her older brother at a young age.
  • Forget that one - Chris inherited the "Griffin gene", as dumb as they come.
  • Meg is a "coming out" Lesbian, soon to get a sex-change operation and renamed HIMself "Matt".
  • Stewie was a result of an experiment to enhance infants' intelligence and boy, did that work out.
  • Brian has the hots for Lois, since he has an interspecies fetish.
  • Quagmire and the elderly man are secret lovers, but both are certain pedophiles. Hey, they go both ways.
  • The crippled cop has no idea his wife is carrying Peter's child - you know how "wild" he gets, binge drinks, shoots his gun recklessly and wife-swapping.
  • That wife's ethnicity is unknown (voice star IS an Asian American), maybe Peter will have a "chico" kid or a "spicy meatball" of a girl.
  • Cleveland is a widower, but may get a spinoff comedy show soon. + 71.102.2.206 04:41, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

I didn't really hate the article itself, but the "controversy" section was obviously written by a fanboy.. <_< HELPME 01:52, January 15, 2010 (UTC)HELPME

Peter is stupid, and he and his wife Lois are getting divorced. Why? Because Lois doesn't like him. Pretty much everyone on the show hates Peter, and Peter is abusive to his daughter Meg. He treats her like dirt. --Judge Judy 14:45, June 11, 2011 (UTC)
