The VfH Timing issue[edit source]

Rather than belabor the discussing on VFH, I would like to explain why I have voted against this article twice. Simply put, both noms were made after Christmas, and by that time it just doesn't have the the timeliness that it needs for the greatest impact on the front page. Christmas is some ten months, four and a three days away. Having an article on about last minute shopping doesn't make sense to me until the day (or week) before Christmas. If it gets nom'd next December, I will whole heartedly back it, but until then it isn't timely and would be contrary to its theme of "last minute mania" Dame PPsigPPlips.gifGUN PotY WotM 2xPotM 17xVFH VFP Poo PMS •YAP• 18:49, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

I haven't voted on this at all, but Pp has a point in that bad timing can ruin a good joke. She may just be right in this case... I DID after all wait almost a full year to put Peyton Manning up on VFH, since I wanted it up during the Super Bowl. I wouldn't be getting nearly the number of votes I'm getting if I'd put it up in March.--<<Bradmonogram.png>> 22:42, 28 January 2007 (UTC)

From Pee Review[edit source]

Yep, just finished this article. See what you think of it. I know it's a little late for Christmas articles, but yeah.
What do I do with this table anyway? Just leave it there? Or what? --The Llama Llover!!!04:57, 5 January 2007 (UTC)

Humour: 8 Some parts are great, other parts just are Ok. However, nothing really "sucks". Round out the whole thing; flesh everything out. Add more content if you can be funny, and give a conclusion.
Concept: 7 A bit more like a HowTo than a normal article, but the idea is definitely one that needs an article, even if it is a little late.
Prose and formatting: 9 Great formatting and prose. The only remarks I have to make here are the two red links and conspicuous lack of any links in the introPurchasing Your Items section. Blue links are pleasing to the eyes. Use as many of them as you can.
Images: 9 This is great, and the other one "fits", but isn't bone-shatteringly great. They both fit the article in a weird way, though. Maybe one more "Christmasy" photo, of a mall that's run down after Christmas with trash everywhere, a slumpint Christmas tree, and a grumpy elf.
Miscellaneous: 7 Not incredibly memorable. Normally after I read an article there are a few lines I'll plagiarize and tell my friends, but this left me with a sense of not having read anything spectacular.
Final Score: 40 Not bad, all in all, but not "stand out" great, and could use some extra padding.
