A bit back, there was some talk of making Uncyclopedian of the Month a more official award and I'd like to reraise that topic. My proposal, change things so that there may be only one Uncyclopedian of the Month per month and feature the award on the front page, like Writer and n00b of the Month. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 14:20, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

Mmmm, I like being able to vote for more than one candidate at least in one of the categories.--Rataube 15:48, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

I think that you ought to be able to vote for multiple candidates, just that only one should be allowed to win each month. --Sir gwax (talk) Signuke.gif 16:08, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
UotM has always been an internal reward for excellence and should remain that way. Featuring a n00b as a "rising star" and a writer as a "top of the heap" is a nice alpha-omega highlight of the bunches of prestigious/useless awards that exist. We need not create additional clutter or create precedent for adding even more awards to the front page. Personally, I was glad to see the front page decluttered even further by the removal of the ailing Colonizations. Let's keep it as is. A number of users are already providing themselves with ample self-promotion by their embarrassingly large signatures which contain every award they've ever received (or given themselves), right down to the joke ones and "thank you" templates that aren't awards at all. Let's ease up a bit more. ^_^ --207.250.21.33 17:14, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

If we were to feature UotM on the front page, I would split the bottom half of the template into two columns, with noob and UotM sharing time on the bottom. That prevents clutter! OK! -- Tinymooose.gif » Sir Savethemooses Grand Commanding Officer ... holla atcha boy» 19:59, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

I think the difference between an award like writer or noob of the month and UotM is that in the former case it tells people which authors to watch, steering them toward content. UotM doesn't always do this, so I question putting it on the front page. ---Quill.gifRev. Isra (talk) 22:29, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

As creator of UotM I don't think it should be featured on the front page, and what ever do you mean by embarrassingly large signatures?--The Right Honourable Maj Sir Elvis UmP KUN FIC MDA VFH Bur. CM and bars UGM F@H (Petition) 22:47, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
Uh huh, no front page...and yah, what large signatures? --The Zombiebaron 22:49, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

It's not the size of the sig, it's how you use it. ---Quill.gifRev. Isra (talk) 22:59, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
