  • I'm pulling my vote because on second thoughts my initial impression of this article was that it was great. Which it is. But... It needed to be cleaned up, and a few sections added or adjusted to be FA. I thought that I could do that myself and tried. But... Looking back I realised that perhaps only the original author can do what I attempted to do and bring this to FA quality. I hope that the original author returns to Uncyc, reverts my changes, and finishes this article. JFC 01:03. Jun 10

  • I'm taking a look-around at the edges of it. JFC, I like your changes, tho it took me a few minutes to realize why the 'Nature of Tao' section needed to go. But think you cut a little too deep in one spot, and removed nice line written by the Master. Unfortunately I don't think I can write like Xiao Li, not even close, so fixing one very small mis-fix may be the most I can do to it... Snarglefoop (talk) 01:59, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
  • And darnit, nobody "smoke LSD". Eat it, yeah, get it on your hands and get a big surprise, yeah, snort it maybe, but smoke it? Snarglefoop (talk) 02:06, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
  • JFC -- I continued what you started, removing junk that had been added which stepped on, watered down, or otherwise messed up the original humor without adding anything ... and lo and behold it's now back to the last version done by Xiao Li, with a few minor word changes (which might or might not be improvements) and some reformatting... All the "coarse" stuff I saw that really didn't help all came from one editor BTW. Snarglefoop (talk) 02:50, 18 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Symbol comment vote.svg Comment. Good stuffs snaglefoop, but I'm still feeling the same way. Need another fiddle from the original author. On this one, I'm not voting against though... JFC 11:14. Jun 18
  • Symbol comment vote.svg Comment. The original author's work is a hard act to follow. The article seems to be based directly on the Tao Te Ching. The intro is a line by line parody of Chapter 1 of the Tao Te Ching; I'm not sure about the rest of it but it sure looks like it could be drawn directly from later chapters. The TTC is divided into 81 very short chapters, each a couple paragraphs long, which is where the article got its structure. The rhythm seems similar to that of the translation by Stephen Mitchell which, unfortunately, doesn't seem to be available for free download (12$ for Kindle, this sells well). The Proj Gutenberg translation is cumbersome and awkward by comparison IMHO. Snarglefoop (talk) 01:06, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
I have again been Snarglefooped. I think perhaps the Tao Te Ching was actually copied from another Jessii of the past. I don't remember exactly which previous Jessii said it. I think it might have been Winnie the Pooh. He said something like: "You don't write poems, you have to go to the places where you can find them". or Something... Anyway, I believe this article was inspired by the wisdom of Pooh. Winnie convinced me to re-read the article, and the line "He who stands against Tao not get laid." caused my giggle filter to spontaneously fire. That and the fact that I wish to promote the wisdom of fellow Jessii Pooh and making this an FA would promote my POV. I hope that admitting my POV in favor of another Jessii does not reduce the validity of my vote. JFC 10:00. Jun 20
