Whoa there, cowboy (De-meme-ing)[edit source]
"De-meme-ing" is a fine and noble thing, but please don't remove all quotes from a wide range of articles without discussing your plan wiht the community and/or an administrator first. Thanks. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 19:36, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, got a bit enthusiastic there... but I kept a few that were relevant, or funny. But yes, I should have talked about it first. Basically I was getting rid of anything that looked out of date, or written by a thirteen-year-old, or seemed like a good idea at the time. I'll give you all a break now, I'm hungry. Totnesmartin 19:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Cool, thanks. Maintenance and crap removal is a highly praiseworthy activity, and I'd be the first to admit we have far too many rubbish quotes on this site, but when we spot a user making big rapid changes we just like to check that everything's OK. Thanks for your work. -- Sir Codeine K·H·P·B·M·N·C·U·Bu. · (Harangue) 19:46, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- He's doin' a fine job. Keep up the good work... & do discuss your plan. It might influence others to do the same.
- Where's a good place to discuss it? Apart from the pub! Totnesmartin 19:58, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

What does "De-meme-ing" actually mean? --Matt lobster 20:19, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Getting rid of those crap Oscar Wilde and Russian Reversal quotes at the top of articles. And surely, Matt lobster, wouldn't Gloss be better? It wouldn't wash off in the sea. Totnesmartin 20:24, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
- Oscar Wilde quotes in Uncyclopedia are something of a tradition and do vary to a great degree, most of the Russian Reversal quotes quite frankly are crap, not all but mostly they are unimaginative and simply done dogmatically by people who are obsessed with the Russian Reversal thing to the exclusion of all else, usually they are done without considering what is funny in the context of the article.--John Wesley Harding 14:03, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
- I noticed the lack of RR quality control - but then quality never was the Soviets' strong point... I will try to be more thoughtful about de-meme-ing. Like looking up people I've haven't heard of. Totnesmartin 18:22, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

- BBQ? It's chucking it down here in Britain! (so what's new...) Totnesmartin 15:31, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Sod this[edit source]
I try to be relevant as well as funny, then someone rewrites my stuff with the usual bollocks about pirates and so on. I'm swimming against a tide of "randomness is funnier than humour." Goodbye. Totnesmartin 21:38, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
