Some things I wanted to tell you[edit source]

  • Before, you added categories and license template to an image from Commons. Common images already are categorized in its proper website and have their propper license template attached of them, so adding them here too is kind of unnecessary. Next time you're categorizing a file, check first that it's from here and not from Commons.
  • The Jimbo Whale template you added to your user page is supposed to be to used to talk with other people, specifically to notice them of something. It's pretty much a satirical version of Wikipedia's trout template.
  • That template you added to your talk page - it's kind of ugly, plus the photo that was supposed to be there seems to not exist anymore. I think it'd be better if you got rid of that...

  1. The categories themselves are what was important in the edit: the Commons details are simply copied across from another file with the same categories, where they act as something to occupy the top of the file page before adding the categories. But I have removed the template and header, just to keep the categories.
  2. I have used these trout templates on my own user page at Wikipedia.
  3. Or perhaps I can just use the photo itself, as a rough place holder until something is uploaded again, perhaps in the distant/immediate future. Even then, I might want to keep the red outlined box to surround the rest of my user page here, or at least move it to surround this conversation?

  • I don't think categorizing Commons file in Uncyclopedia is necessary. I don't know if you've realized this, but I sent the page you created when adding these categories to QVFD for that reason. Perhaps the admins don't think it's necessary to delete them, though.
  • Ah, ok. I though you didn't know what trouts (or in this case, Jimbo Whales) were for.
  • The problem with the photo is that it's directly directing to a file that seems was once stored in a different website and now is deleted. This is why using files directly from Uncyclopedia are better than using a link. If what you want is the gray background and red border, then you should get rid of both the photo and the welcome message (which is useless as MrX already gave it to you) and just let the border and the background stay. If you're having problem, I could try helping you.

  1. The categories of interest are mostly targeting New York City, as these were already pre-established for a few other files solely hosted here.
  2. On Wikipedia, there was a template called Self-trout, which I decided to attempt to emulate here.
  3. Perhaps I just need to shift the top and bottom of the colo/ur box and border.

  • Yea, but those were files hosted on this wiki, whereas the ones you added are from Commons... I don't know, it just seems an unnecessary move to me. But it's not like you did something wrong or anything.
  • n/a
  • I already went ahead and added the red border and grey background to your userpage. I hope you like it :]

Just in case you didn't see my reply at my talk page, sorry about our abuse filter. I made you a "confirmed user", so you shouldn't have any more trouble with it, but let me know if you do or if you have any questions or anything. Cheers. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 13:13, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
