Have you read Tolkien?[edit source]

Okay, I will go ahead and delete the VFH submission on Frodo Baggins. There's also another Frodo article. But I don't get what you mean about my Frodo article being like an "article" on LotR when the only place there's anything about him is in Lord of the Rings. He's a central character in the story, but there's nothing outside of that where he would figure. Not even in The Silmarillion are hobbits even showing up on the scene in the history of Middle Earth canon. And it's not like I'm intentionally making content for a content-free site, it's that I'm a Tolkien enthusiast and I can find humor in something so rich with characters and events. I was going to VFH on my Balrog one but, again, I put in a "wall of text" so that's off the table. Hell, any of my Homer-related articles are going to be the same way. And it's another thing I don't get because I do use paragraphs and breaks and work on pics and gifs to go with it. I guess I just don't understand why all articles have to be short when there is a wealth of material to draw from. I did have one really short article and it had more than two sentences but then I was informed that I'd better get more in there or else! They even tagged it with some template for being too short. And then another for trying to add more to it and it ended up oddly...Shruggingatyou.gif Nacky (talk) 18:15, 17 December 2025 (UTC)

To preface, I don't think everything on this website needs to be formatted just like Wikipedia, and I think playing around with formatting is an incredible idea for the basis of an article. But, with that said, I would take a look at Frodo's Wikipedia article. The main difference is that your article feels like it's just narrating Frodo's story, which is certainly a useful part of the article, I think you should probably add something to it other than just his story. Otherwise, I'd say it's pretty solid and retract my "wall of text" statement, as rereading the article, I like the rambly sort of writing. Buv (talk) 19:57, 17 December 2025 (UTC)
If I had put anything that was just Frodo being Frodo, I don't know how that would even work. I could invent something like he took a side-hustle during the quest to delay having to go to Mordor, but then that would be an even longer page. What is it that Frodo does? That's the question. His whole existence that we know about is just him and that damned mission. He's almost like a plot device and Tolkien would probably frown at me saying that.
