HONOLULU, Hawaii -- The new governor of Hawaii wants to help President Obama prove that he was born in the U.S.A.
Democratic Governor Neil Abercrombie wants to dispel conspiracy theories that Mr. Obama is not "natural-born" and thus Constitutionally ineligible to be the President.
Unfortunately, state privacy law bars such disclosures to anyone without a tangible interest, and the feeling that America is going straight to Hell is--not tangible.
Capitol spokeswoman Donalyn Dela Cruz said, "The Governor knew Mr. Obama's parents, so it's personal." Governor Abercrombie admits he was not at the hospital at the time of the birth, but he was a friend of the family, and created the Internet, stood close enough to Martin Luther King when he was shot to have a blood-stained shirt, and personally came up with the Missouri Compromise.
Also, Hawaii's health director said in 2008 that she had verified Mr. Obama's original birth certificate. But legally, she can't tell us what's on it.
Should the records prove that Mr. Obama is "natural-born," it may quiet the "birther" movement, but the three key conditions for the President to be impeached would still be met: Poll numbers dropping like a rock, a ridiculous Vice President, and a House of Reprehensibles which, as of January 3, will be run by the opposition party. That party's name was not immediately available, but it did prove, the last time it was in power, that it regards bread as not half as filling as circuses.
