Talk:Movie Trailer Announcer Guy

From Uncyclopedia, the content-free encyclopedia

This article is nice, however it needs a bit of help with its formatting. I understand he's saying it, and that there are people talking during the "movie". It would be more impressive to see more people in the theater, and more of a prelude to it. This article could greatly use a better organization. – Preceding unsigned comment added by Kesier (talk • contribs)

Actually, as of the time I began adding quotes, images, and characters, the storyline for the "movie" is that six friends, one of them Oscar Wilde, go to the theater to see The Uncyclopedia Movie and then the main character, Fred Epstein, recognizes the voice, but nobody else does. He then decides to expose the Movie Trailer Announcer Guy's identity. Does it make sense now? I hope it does; I've been working hard on this to get it VFH-worthy. Hi PF4Eva - I like what you've done with this since I last saw it! Just thought I'd let you know I can't see any of the yellow quotes though - should they be on a black background? Because (at least on my computer) they aren't. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 02:05, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Yes, the background is black, and I have changed the yellow to orange. Is that easier to read now? Thanks for your input. Black-2.jpg PF4Eva, the President of Imagination Vote for me My tax returns 00:39, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Ah - see, in that case I think the problem is somehow browser dependant - when I look at the article I see the quotes (and other "div" bits) as encased in a box of white background, if you see what I mean (which was the only reason why I couldn't read the yellow text). I think changing the "div"s to "span"s should do the trick - I've done one already, but I thought I'd better not do them all in case it now doesn't look right in your browser! --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 09:43, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Much better! Now all you need is someone to do the voiceover. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 00:11, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
I'll do it if Insineratehymn can make it into an MP3 and if someone provides me with dramatic background music. --Crazyswordsman...With SAVINGS!!!! (T/C) 04:14, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

It gets blacker! Just thought I'd let you know whatever you did to the title looks like this on IE: Nagging.PNG

Also the template boxes down the bottom have white backgrounds. There's also two Pee Review templates, but I'll probably go and fix that one for you... --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 22:59, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out for me. I was trying to mess around with adding more black to the background, and thought it would be fun to mess with the title hack that I borrowed from the Google (company) article. I'm thinking about reskinning the templates and stuff so that it's white text across a black background. It didn't come out right when I did it yesterday, so I'll need somebody's help in reskinning the page. It was nice, but I wish the voice acting was better. =/ Mightywayne 20:26, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Everyone's a critic. If you think you can do better, give it a shot. ~Jewriken.GIF 22:33, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

From Pee Review[edit source]

This article is hilarious so far, and I want to more what more can be done to improve it. Zim said he would record an audio version, so that's taken care of as far as I know. I want this article to be as movie trailer-ish as possible. It has a lot of great jokes in it, aside from the self-reference. I even managed to include an image of the guy, Don LaFontaine, on the page. Any improvements you can think of would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Humour: 7 This really can't be improved because it's all about you. You have to imagine the Movie Trailer guy saying the words as you read it, and I think this is funny in itself. Maybe make the list of films more obscure, Chicken run is what made me laugh because it wouldn't be done with this guy's voice, maybe a well known porno or a film that has a title that will make people think of a porn film (sorry to bring the mood down). :)
Concept: 10 Great, executed really well.
Prose and formatting: 8 So far, it's good. The text in the centre of the screen really does it justice. However, if it doesn't get featured this time, leave a note on my talk page and I'll have a look at the formatting. I was maybe thinking of a black background to make it more cinema like.
Images: 6 The only thing that I don't understand about the pictures is why there is a random picture half way down the page.
Miscellaneous: 10 Nothing else was really bugging me.
Final Score: 41 Sorry, but this was really short in terms of comments, but it is on VFH any way. So I just said some minor things that could be improved.

The quotes should be a consistent colour that's different from the baritone voice. --Alksubsig.gifAlksub - VFH CM WA RV {talk} 01:31, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

Fight scene: What movie?[edit source]

Just in case I ever again forget, the fight scene at the bottom is from a 1993 or 94 martial arts action movie called Undefeatable. The actors are Don Niam (the guy with the poofy hair) and John Miller (the guy who takes off his shirt).
