Lemuria
Lemuria was an ancient civilization founded by lemurs that lasted from roughly 10,212 BC to 7,053 BC. It commonly switched governments/ideologies and was a very chaotic civilization politically, though such political chaos became a part of the culture.
History[edit | edit source]
Lemuria was founded by Lemurs of which evolved from the earlier Neanderthal-Human inhabitants (the forests of Lemuria made Lemur tails needed) around 10,210 BC with the establishment of the three core cities: Le, Mur, and Ia, which later gave the continent it's name. Mur soon became the de-facto capital of the civilization due to its favorable position for trade with Indonesian tribes in East Lemuria. As the civilization progressed throughout the land bridge continent of Lemuria, it grew from a collection of city-states into a fully fledged nation, entitled at first as the Kingdom of Lemuria, but soon its famous political chaos emerged. With politics now irrelevant, the people of Lemuria focused mainly on technological development, becoming a key and pivotal technological hub of the times. As it came into 8,000 BC, it was drawn into the Finno-Korean Hyperwar and was forced to side with the Finnish for reasons unknown, lost to time. Mur, now commonly known as the Lemurian Citadel, was by this point a monument to man's advancement, a true metropolis, but it was, of course, doomed to destruction at some point. And that point was in 7,051 BC, as Koreans marched into Lemuria, their numbers too large for any technology to halt them. Approaching Mur, evacuations were attempted but failed. The billions of inhabitants of Mur tried to flee but ultimately, traffic jams prevented this. Koreans marched in, preparing human wave tactics that proved just barely enough to win over Lemuria. This resulted in the intentional explosion of the Nuclear Hypercore of Mur/Lemurian Citadel, annihilating Mur and Le, and leaving Lemuria in ruins, now 1.7 Billion dead. Throughout the next 2 years, there was significant destruction as Ia and several other cities proclaimed independence and almost immediately were divided into two alliances: the Pro-Finnic and Pro-Korean Alliances, the East, supporting the Finns, was surrounded on all sides and was nearing defeat in 7,053 BC. Just as Ia was about to be landed at by Koreans, Lemuria disappeared. It is suspected the Pro-Finnic alliance had something to do with this, but nobody is sure.
Culture[edit | edit source]
The culture of Lemuria revolved heavily around foliage and trees, which was always the reason they were Lemurs at all. Otherwise, practices of modern Madagascar inhabitants are presumed to be significantly descended from the Lemurians, hence, it is likely that every aspect of Lemurian culture, aside from the intense focus on trees, was just about the same as Madagascar's. It is known that in early Lemurian society, clothes were not generally valued, but instead were barely even needed due to the hot climate of the area. However, come mid to late Lemuria, clothes became more common due to it being seen as more civilized since being nude became associated with primitive life.
