The new monobook skin should be live to site in a few minutes. Please let us know if you find any issues with it... as we've spent many hours trying to get Uncyc back to the standard mediawiki skin so that you can get more MW features for the site. I hope everyone takes a moment to thank the engineers for the hard work they've put in over the last few weeks. Gil 18:16, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the update, but I do see one issue already: In monobook, pages don't spread to fill the entire width of my browser. The Uncyclopedia (default) skin does, as does Wikipedia:Main_Page. I get about a 1" margin on the right side, but the left is flush to the edge of the browser. This could be due to a .js addon which has added 2 fields past the "log out" link, but it doesn't show under the Uncyclopedia skin or any of the others. If it helps, this is under Firefox32 running on Kubuntu AMD64 7.04 at obscenely high resolutions. Humm...and now having changed my skins a few times, I get a database error when going to my preferences. I hope that was you and not me... Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 08/4 18:41
While I normally use the default skin, I switched just now to see the difference. The only change that I see is that the background is white. Ewwww. -- The Zombiebaron 18:50, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
I have a feeling the by monobook he means uncyclopedia. "Uncyclopedia" is the name of uncyc's monobook skin. Or he might be talking about actual monobook, which nobody uses anyway. Either way, the updates are appreciated! Spang talk 10:10, 04 Aug 2007
http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Forum:New_Skin?useskin=monobook shows the problems with the background being blanked to white and the content not reaching the right edge of the screen - basically all the problems Inciclopedians, dÉsencyclopedien(ne)s and other assorted foreigners have been dealing with here for years.

Not that I recommend trying it, but I tried a few other skins, and somewhere along the line found something broken. I think it was with Slate. I can no longer render any pages under my acct name. I posted the error message on Sannse's page figuring that she'd be the first person with any idea how to fix it to see it. I am, as of now, unable to read or edit from my acct. Weeeee! That will teach me to try new things! Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 22:06, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

I've told wikia about that problem, seems they haven;t fixed it yet. Copy this link: http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Special:Preferences?useskin=uncyclopedia then, log in, then go to the link, and you should be able to change your options back. Spang talk 10:10, 04 Aug 2007
That didn't quite do it. Got:

Database error A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was:

   (SQL query hidden)

from within function "". MySQL returned error "1146: Table 'uncyclo.widgets' doesn't exist (216.224.121.137)".

Thanks for the try tho! Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 22:23, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Actually, all I needed was some liquor and the ability to both read and understand what you wrote. Got it now. Thanks a whole bunch. For future reference, if I need assistance, write it out as "Step1, Step2, etc." Bone F clear.png Sir Famine, Gun Petition » 08/5 01:07

For reference, this refers to Forum:Tests needed for upcoming long overdue skin upgrade. --Splaka 22:50, 4 August 2007 (UTC)

The new skin's giving an error: Error: __utmSetVar is not defined. Also, if anyone else's tabs are broken now, let me know and I can fix them for you if wikia doesn't get around to it. Spang talk 10:31, 05 Aug 2007

Ouch... the margin really isn't that insufferable, actually kind of nice on a 1280x1024 screen since otherwise I'd be stuck reading all the way out to the margins, but white backgrounds should be unforgivable. I'll probably be sticking with the Uncyclopedia skin and my custom stylesheet so my eyes don't start bleeding.
