It checks the beta uncyc skin, or else it gets the hose again

Attention unpersons. As can be seen by numerous bugs in the last few upgrades, Uncyclopedia's skin is very out of date (like, 1.4 instead of 1.10). We've conspired with several techs to perform a semi-merge into monobook for the forked uncyclopedia skin. Many of the unique styles on Uncyclopedia were due to chron having hacked the hard-wired css/js/php files, which makes upgrading quite hard.

I've moved most of the css changes (differences from wikimedia/wikia's skins/monobook/main.css) to MediaWiki:Uncyclopedia.css. Also, the Uncyclopedia.php file has been upgraded (finally, the cool classes in <body>, per page css! etc).

Anyway, if possible, please check http://beta.uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Main_Page and various other pages. There will be very slight css differences, such as spacing between the action buttons, and positions in the footer, but these are esoteric and eliminatiable. It would be sweet if, for say a day, someone could set someting in the sitenotice (maybe just for logged in users, using anonnotice for something else), asking users to please check the beta.uncyclopedia version of pages. Note that something like http://beta.uncyclopedia.org/wiki/{{FULLPAGENAMEE}} may not work as you might expect in the sitenotice, as the sitenotice is cached oddly.")

Also, please list all bugs/errors here (as well as possible fixes, that could be done via MediaWiki:Uncyclopedia.css and MediaWiki:Uncyclopedia.js ), at the bottom of this page, where it says Bugs.

Also, if you get frustrated, please feel free to give sannse a quick ban!

Bugs

Need tests on your skin? Visit your local dermatologist today! And for all your skin upgrade needs, plastic surgeons are waiting to take your call! (In other words: I can't see much wrong with it at first glance - I might have a go at wrecking it later.) --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 16:59, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

So far, I can find nothing. Well... almost nothing. As I thought, the specialty pages tend to be a tad messed up. For example, look at invisible. It used to be invisible, (and of course the alpha testing and message will go away) but the "send this page to a friend" is not. Although it might just be the creator's job... :o Mightywayne 11:44, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

The page you're talking about is actually Nihilism (redirected from Invisible). I think each item is hidden individually, so if there's any new items on the menu they will indeed need hiding in Nihilism's css. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 12:43, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Why can't I see my uncyclopedia.js java buttons in beta? But I can see the link box on the lower left corner? If I don't know what I am talking about...then please tell me.-- Sir Severian Severian1.jpg CUN.png (Sprich mit mir!) Kraut.png 12:26, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
Presumably just because you're not logged in on the beta wiki (if indeed accounts are even valid over there). --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 12:43, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I logged in there as normal, and still not .js at the top of the page, but the icu, nrv, stub, ect started showing up at the top of my edit windows... Sir Severian Severian1.jpg CUN.png (Sprich mit mir!) Kraut.png
The javascript that adds tabs is broken in the new skin. I might try and fix it sometime. Possibly. Spang talk 03:06, 13 Jul 2007
Don't know if this is a bug or not, but the poll on my userpage seems to have been mysteriously wiped clean. --THE 13:48, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
mmm...it appears that this actually happened to all the polls on here. --THE 14:25, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
It messed up my user page. I originaly title-hacked it and now it was all messed up. For now, I'm using {{Title|}} but can someone explain why this happened? --Sir Manforman CUN.png 14:42, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Do we have to start all over again on the new Uncyclpedia, or will all the stuff HERE be moved to THERE? --Trar (talk|contribs|grueslayer) Mchammer.gif 15:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

Beta is just a test wiki. All that will be moved is the css from there to here. And the hope is, that it will make no difference to what you see here -- sannse (talk) 07:52, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
I had New Messages I hadn't checked (so I had that orange box at the top of the screen), and I scrolled down the page until the orange box wasn't visible. When I scrolled back up, the Text was still there, but the orange box had vanished. --Ye Olde Luke 20:56, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I've seen that happen before on the current skin. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 21:35, 12 July 2007 (UTC)

I'd blundered briefly into inciclopedia.org and now I've got these unsightly yellowish-orange blotches all over my skin. Ouch. They told me not to drink the water down there, but I thought that was only something one worried about when travelling through third-world cities such as Walkerton. *sigh* Now what do I do? Is there a dermatologist in the house? --66.102.80.239 05:30, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I've noticed problems with my UnCameron article. The references have disappeared from the bottom and only return when the article's poll isn't there. Would this have anything to do with the skin upgrade or have I done something stupid? My money's on the latter. -- 15Mickey20 (talk to Mickey)  16:41, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Extensions I'd like to see nuked

  • Tag this image. - Useless, and seemingly broken. IMO, don't bother fixing.
  • "Invite Friends to Join Wikia !" - Just... no. No, no, no. Spang talk 04:26, 13 Jul 2007

Thanks

Thanks all. We'll leave the side link for a little longer, please add anything else you find. We are particularly interested in special pages and articles with fancy stuff in them. That's where bugs are likely to be found. Thanks again -- sannse (talk) 07:52, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I noticed something, but I'm not sure if it's a bug with the new skin or MediaWiki. Chances are it's the latter, but I'll say it anyway. I tried to change my preferences so it displayed the date differently, and it didn't. Gasp.-Sir Ljlego, GUN VFH FIYC WotM SG WHotM PWotM AotM EGAEDM ANotM + (Talk) 03:28, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

Make it look like en.wp

For great justice.

Seriously, we need our main namespace pages to look just like en.wp to do our job properly. Dawg.gif » Brig Sir Dawg | t | v | c » 2007.07.16.16:53

Big Fat Errors of Doom (also known as: Urgent Attention)

The "Letters of the Alphabet" box no longer looks like a keyboard, but rather a bunch of disconnected words with vertical bars between them. See the bottom of this page for details. --209.240.89.125 19:10, 16 July 2007 (UTC)

I think you're confusing the {{sunalphabet}} template with the {{alphabet}} template. Spang talk 08:00, 16 Jul 2007

Skin is not PC in some circles

I like to “change my skin” from time to time. If I don’t, people wonder why the human face I present to the world doesn’t seem to age. I try to avoid the term skin, as I don’t want to be mistaken for a skin-walker. I’ve met some. Imagine Navajo shape-shifting Goths who actually believe the “join the dark side” non-sense! Image: page problems

I'm not sure whether this is related to the skin upgrade, but the images on Image: pages (on the main Uncyclopedia, not the beta) don't link to the high-res versions. --Starnestommy (TalkContribsFFSWP) 05:35, 26 July 2007 (UTC)

Are you sure you just aren't looking at an image without a higher-res version? This one does. At least for me. --Strange.PNG (but) Untrue  Whhhy?Whut? How? *Back from the dead* 08:18, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
I was looking at one that had a high-res version, but the image itself doesn't link to the high-res version like it used to. --Starnestommy (TalkContribsFFSWP) 20:32, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
