Periodically I do Google News searches for "uncyclopedia" to see if we're getting any media coverage. I came across this article, "The free-knowledge fundamentalist," which is mostly all the stuff you already know about Wales and Wikipedia. But then there's this confusing little ditty...

All this has gone to his head, say former friends. Mr Wales “has created something of a mythology about himself,” says one. “The image he created is that he is this benevolent millionaire who donates his time for this charitable project; that is not true.” Instead, this acquaintance argues, Mr Wales is merely basking in the glow of Wikipedia’s success. He has alienated his former inner circle, and he “keeps his Objectivism under wraps” when hanging out with famous people.
An alternative view is that Mr Wales is still as intellectually curious as ever and is looking for a next big thing. He is in his forties now, an age that Carl Jung believed to be the “noon of life”, when men, in particular, reappraise past achievements and look for new ways to make a contribution. Mr Wales wants his to be Wikia, a for-profit company that is separate from Wikipedia. He calls it the “uncyclopedia” because he hopes to use wiki technology to build “the rest of the library”—books, articles about health and hobbies—with no presumption of neutrality.

Misunderstanding on the part of the interviewer? Devious plan for Jimbo to steal the Uncyclopedia name for his own purposes? By the way guys, Garfield is 30 today, so celebrate with a li'l bit of hilarity. —rc (t) 15:32, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, an easy mistake to make - Wikia has been a bit of a joke recently what with all these New Monaco shenanigans.

Maybe a sannse can shed some light on this? It kind of looks like the co-founder of Wikia forgot about its biggest wiki. --Pleb SYNDROME CUN medicate (butt poop!!!!) 22:27, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Is that about Wookiees? Sir Modusoperandi Boinc! 15:09, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
I think it has something to do with the fight against halotosis, crippler of millions, known as the Epidemic That Dares Not Breathe In Your Face. Just yesterday I got twenty spam emails from Jimbo on behalf of Halopedia asking if I wanted to donate my used breath to the Organization for Liquidating Incumbent Professional Republican Oligarchs (OLIPRO). My breath -- which can knock a dead bishop out of his grave at a distance of thirty meters -- would be piped into their fundraisers, disgusting (if not killing) all within. I declined, citing egalitarian embarrassment (Liberté-Egalité-Fraternité). ----OEJ 15:57, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
