Good proofreading[edit source]
Thank you for the quality grammar and spelling corrections on several pages. I don't know about putting a tag on the talk page, though, as it is far from given that the pages will stay proofread! Spıke ¬ 13:11 19-Jun-12
- Thank you for the advice I stopped doing that this morning. I'm new to this so no doubt I'll be making many more errors and I have felt embarrassed at least twice already however this will not prevent me from working my way through the list of articles that need proofing. Thanks again! --Trz (talk) 13:46, June 19, 2012 (UTC)
Please don't feel embarrassed by not knowing the local way of doing things; it's acquired with experience. (Here's another one: Reply on the same page so we can find the entire conversation in one place, with indent. Most other Uncyclopedians add one tab per message, but my screen is small.) You tempt me to proofread the proofreader! Am unwatching your page now; if you have more questions, come to mine. Spıke ¬ 14:24 19-Jun-12
Also: Saw you correcting a case of British spelling. American spelling is the default, and I don't know enough to take issue with what you did, but a page describing something in the British Commonwealth might use British spelling; also, an article about a place that doesn't use English at all, which happens to be written by a Brit, might use it too, and it's not worth your effort. The greatest good would be consistency within the page. Spıke ¬ 19:20 21-Jun-12
- Yes I was going to ask you about that and what you've said makes sense. --Trz (talk) 20:10, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
Golfishing[edit source]
I think you have a good concept, but the sections weren't too well fleshed out, and needed more jokes. Check out my changes to the article, and see what you think. -- Simsilikesims(♀UN) Talk here. 16:23, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
- Yes this is w.i.p I'm afraid and requires lots more work but as you say the concept is there. I didn't think anyone would read it this soon but I am new to this and it seems nothing goes unnoticed. I was just doing some proofing! --Trz (talk) 18:38, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
- The conceptual problem with this page is that it requires the reader to type the punch line in order to read the joke! You will better fit the "encyclopedia" format if you use a more conventional article name as a starting point for your flight of fancy; for instance, fit this into a new section of Golf. PS--The reason "nothing goes unnoticed" is that things have gotten so slow that one can now look at Special:RecentChanges instead of one's own Watchlist (confined to specified pages) to see edits of interest.
