The Great Aussie Bush Camp[edit source]
I have reverted the article back to my "under construction" revision. I know you are a new user here and may not have noticed that our standards are a bit higher than what you might think. This is a voting page for articles that have been deemed unworthy to stay in this site, and if you are observant you will realise those getting voted for deletion are largely pointless drivels and long articles consisting of nothing but leetspeak, scatology, tasteless racist slurs and random nonsense. If I put this page there, it will likely not survive. Nevertheless, what it still has is hope.
Few days ago, I discussed with my fellows on our wiki's IRC channel about the subject of this article and what we found out was that there was a certain degree of hilarity in the photos of the organisers of this particular youth camp. Plus, if you look at source 2 carefully, you will find out, unlike most business owners, who are more than happy to hand out their own business cards, the manager of the camp is not even willing to give away his real name. This kind of practice is rather sloppy and is generally not well-regarded unless it was carried out perhaps within the Sicilian mafia.
I have dedicated my time here to help expand our Australian collection of articles, so if you have any questions or doubts, just bug me on my talk page or ask at the Dump. If you have a bit of spare time, read this and this. Thank you. -- The Colonel (talk) 09:51, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- This was some hard work done by me and a few mates. We wrote it all by recounting our stay at the camp, and we tried to make it as true to detail as we could. I was worried it would be considered 'vanity', but to my surprise it wasn't, so I'm very protective of the article. I was also worried it wouldn't be considered funny; but even strangers I've never met have been giving me good feedback. So yeah just letting you know that's all. If I don't change it back to what it was before, a friend of mine probably will.

- Ok... I have move the discussion back here so we won't end up having a totally broken conversation.
- Yes, I do understand what the whole article was trying to convey, but the way it was written was just, say, a bit scatty and a little narrow in perspective. Besides, if the article is to survive the criticism from our worldwide community of users, then you will have to try extra hard and expand it to the point that even those who are not familiar with the subject matter can appreciate the humour without seeing it as some kind of vanity that doesn't deserve speedy deletion but is nonetheless worthy of dying from a VFD. I'll find some time and discuss the quality of this article with other users again and see if we should revert the article back to your version (although I strongly believe that they will simply say "no"). Anyway, please tell your friends not to revert the article as this may be considered "revert warring" and result in the banning of your fellow mates. You don't want to tick off the admins, seriously. -- The Colonel (talk) 14:21, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Hey, this has a lot of potential. Work on the version that Col. Swordman updated, and add some pics of camp, funny stories...The PM of Austrailia as the Camp Boss...who knows...work on it and really make it complete or those guys will delete your shit faster than they can screw a sheep.-- Sir Severian (Sprich mit mir!) 15:30, 5 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well if you say so. I won't edit it back. Lots of people are fed up though, but they're obviously insignificant. --The Blaque 07:52, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
