Some tough love[edit source]

Thanks for leaving me the note on Mississippi. When I first went and looked at it, I think I would tweak it, but before I knew it I had rewritten it. Anyway, I tried to do my best.

I also took a look at Hitler Gone Wild and I'm not optimistic about it. In general, Hitler articles either have to be on the money, or they fail, and HGW fails, and heres why:

  1. Hitler as a woman with blond hair ala Tara Reid, not funny.
  2. Hitler in general, not funny.
  3. Hitler gone wild as historical piece would be a great title for an article on Hitlers pre 1939 antics in Europe. As a matter of fact, the crowning glory of a such an article (the second to last section) could be about how Hitler backed-over Poland ala Lizzie Grubman in the Hamptons ("I meant to park my panzerwagon and I got the pedals confused and I just like ran over Poland, I guess.")

The other thing is that when you write for humor there has to be a hair of truth in it, and it has to be cohesive, then you can load either the joke, or the incongruent into the sentence. Incongruents only work IF you are listing a series of reasonable things and then the last thing is slightly off kilter - and you can't over do it, otherwise instead of a quirky surprise, it becomes a predictable device

So lets look at what doesn't work as a joke:

"Hitler Gone Wild videos involve an infantry crew patrolling a party-heavy area frequented by Jews in search of attractive women who agree to "get a little crazy" with them."

My question is, is this about Tuetonic maidens, or is the article about Hitler in drag going wild? Well, since its about Hitler, this sentence doesn't fit - especially with the image. But, the sentence could work if the focus was really about Hitler going wild in the 1930s:

"Hitler gone wild fims expose the real furor caused by Der Fueher as he goes from Beer Hall Bombshell to the party-heartySudetenland Land Strumpet that will shock you sensless. You'll be agog and agast as naughty 'Dolf marches into Prague and annouces that things are going to be different now that he's in charge. See him whip out his Master Race Card - the easy electronic way to go shopping without limits - even to places that don't accept Czechs!"

See the difference?

One other note - try not to get in a rut with topics and hot links. If all your hotlinks just link in pages all about jews, Hitler, gays, homos and games, it gets really tiring. Try making your links work 1) To things that exist on Uncyclopedia (no red links) and 2)Topics with add a touch of irony.

Finally, stay away from things that have been beat to death, again, Hitler, silly articles that make no sense (aka "Benjamin Franklin was born on Uranus in 1599" is a ten year olds idea of funny - not yours) and Europods.

My suggestion to you is to develop a sandbox page User:SunRainbowMoth/Sandbox and try your ideas out there first. This gives you place to put things before you launch it on the site, and you can tweak them there without anyone really caring because its like your place on Uncyclopedia to play. You can also invite people like me or anyone else to come and take a look at them before you launch it.

Hope all this helps .. its meant to - don't let me scare you off. Let me know anytime you want me to review something - the offer is given in the spirit of all things fun and funny,Dame PPsigPPlips.gifGUN PotY WotM 2xPotM 17xVFH VFP Poo PMS •YAP• 23:39, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
