At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Its that guy/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If you want to write and don't know where to begin, consider contributing to Uncyclopedia's current colonization of the week, a group writing project to improve a single popular article. Anyone is welcome to contribute, so come help out!
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!
If you need help, ask me on my talk page, ask at the Dump, or ask an administrator on their talk page. Additionally, the Uncyclopedian Adopt-a-Noob program is there to bring experienced editors straight to you. Simply leave a message on an adopter's talkpage to join. Again, welcome! --UU - natter 10:38, Mar 26
Dude[edit source]
I have moved your article to your user space. It was either that or delete it. It was just too random I'm afraid, and Chuck kinda gets a bad press around here these days. What you need to do is read this. It's not an insult, and will help you make your article better. When you have worked on it A LOT MORE (cos it needs lots of work) have a word with me, and I will let you know if you can move it back into the mainspace. Cheers. MrN 15:21, Apr 3
- its alright if u delete it, that article was a peace of crap anyway. besides i can't be bothered rewriting it, it was sorta a test run on the site--Its that guy 07:54, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
List of funny fears[edit source]
If an admin deletes one of your articles, talk to him. Most of us, especially UU, are pretty approachable. Recreating it with demands and profanities will surely get you banned. ~ 10:40, 17 May 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed, my banhammer gets all twitchy when I read words like "fuck you", whereas words like "please" make me say things like "I can restore a copy of the page I deleted to your userspace if you want. And, you know, I did leave some advice in the delete comment - use the {{construction}} tag on new articles, then no wandering admin will delete your article for 7 whole days. You don't lose your list of names, we don't get called fags, everyone wins. Your call! --UU - natter 19:38, May 17
