At Uncyclopedia, writing articles is not a requirement, but it certainly is a fun and easy way to express your creativity. To write an article, it's recommended that you start it in your userspace (for example, User:Assholeism101/Article about stuff) so you can edit it at your leisure. If you decide to create it in the cold world of mainspace, make sure it is in accordance with the policies laid out above, and if you're not done put the "Work-In-Progress" template - {{construction}} - onto it as well.
If the current colonization doesn't suit your fancy, then browse our rewrite and idea categories. We have lots of articles just sitting around for someone to improve, so don't be afraid - dive right in!

User:Assholeism101/UnNews:Dallas mayor makes thinly veiled political power move[edit source]
Welcome to UnNews! Unfortunately, I have moved your article from the UnNews space back to your own userspace, where you can continue editing under the filename shown above, moving it back to UnNews when it is done.
The basic problem is that no one outside Dallas (least of all outside the US, where we do have readers) understands what the hell this is about. At the least, you should tie it to an actual story in one of the Dallas newspapers or a wire service and include a real {{Source}}. If you just made this up to smear your mayor, it is going to take a lot more to explain why it is funny. That you think he is an asshole doesn't count; it needs to relate to something in the news. Yo. Not to discourage, but I've moved this one to your userspace as well. An interesting notion, it needs more than just a headline and bananas - flesh it out more into a proper news, follow the style guides, fix the formatting, perhaps look at other UnNews or even find an actual news article about a nation sending aid and rewrite it so it's about the guy sending bananas... and once you've got a full article, put it back in the UnNews space in its full glory, mon. ~
