~ Wonderfool on the Main Page of Wikipedia[1]

Wonderfool, also known by the aliases of Robdurbar or Dangherous, is one of Wikipedia's most notable rogue admins. He is remembered for a massive vandalism spree in 2007, where he deleted the Main Page and blocked Jimbo Wales, among other atrocities. He is currently a long-term abuser on many Wikimedia projects.

Wonderfool vandalizes the main page of Wikipedia.

History[edit | edit source]

The birth of a legend[edit | edit source]

The Robdurbar account was first created in July 2005, attaining admininstrator status a year later. His initial edits were all constructive, and everybody respected him.[2] The following March, Robdurbar pretended to quit Wikipedia editing.

The attack[edit | edit source]

On April 2007, Robdurbar decided to return by pulling a little practical joke on the Wikipedia website. First, he deleted the article for cheese, in addition to two more articles. Then, he deleted the main page. People began to notice Robdurbar going rogue very quickly, and another admin named Lostintherush gave him a block. But back then, admins could unblock themselves. Yeah, you know how things might have turned out.

Robdurbar going crazy, vandalizing Wikipedia and blocking anyone who dares stop him in his tracks.

Not only was Robdurbar able to end his block at the click of a button, but he could also block anybody else, as well as getting rid of their admin privilages to prevent them from retaliating. Yeah, Robdurbar was basically taking over the website, and things were looking good. That is, until 17 minutes later.

17 minutes later[edit | edit source]

Robdurbar's vandalism spree finally came to a halt after 17 minutes, when a Meta-Wiki Steward revoked his admin privilages. He was blocked indefinitely, and his unconstructive edits were reverted promptly. Everybody was confused; how could such a respectable admin do such things? At first, it was believed that Robdurbar's account had been compromised, but a CheckUser soon proved otherwise.

You might be wondering: is it good or bad that it took 17 minutes for the whole situation to be resolved? Here, let me be honest with y'all, WHO THE F*** CARES?!!!!! This is a humor website, for goodness' sakes! Stop turning into one of those so-called "experts" on Wikipedia. Now go home!

Revenge[edit | edit source]

About a year or two later, a bunch of different incidents like the Robdurbar incident started happening on other wikis. Different admins on Wiktionary (a free dictionary similar to Wikipedia) were going rogue: deleting the main page, blocking Jimbo Wales, and so on. People were confused, again. But everything was quickly explained after all the accounts were connected to the same person, Wonderfool.

Wonderfool today[edit | edit source]

Wonderfool is still a very active vandal. Since it is getting harder and harder to become an admin nowadays, Wonderfool has turned to other forms of disruption and trolling, such as impersonating other admins and closing SPIs for no apparent reason. If you go here, I'll bet you'll find at least one section for Wonderfool.

In total, Wonderfool managed to gain admin rights on six separate occasions. If all his contributions were on a single account, he would have been Wikimedia's fourth most prolific editor. Talk about long-term abuse!

Oh, and one more thing:[edit | edit source]

Notes[edit | edit source]

  1. This is an actual quote, by the way.
  2. Except for the vandals, of course.
