UnNews:Albus Dumbledore: out of the closet at last?[edit source]
Questionable article content and length leads me to be cautious and please know that the article isn't mine, It's Vanaelin's. --NXWave 23:55, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
Humour: | 5 | Ok, this is the first time I have pee-reviewed a UN-NEWS article, so my comments might be a bit off, forgive me if they are... I'm not a great fan of the Harry Potter series, but have seen some of the films... For me I did not really "Get" the joke. I liked the reference to the "dead poets" society, and think that there are probably some other subtle references in here which I missed. I'm not sure if that's a good thing as if I missed them then probably a lot of other people will also, and that's not going to make too many people laugh. I was refreshing to see a Wilde reference which was actually relevant for a change, but I'm afraid that if your thinking of putting this up for VFH it needs a few more "obvious" gags to get the punters laughing... |
Concept: | 4 | For me not the most original of ideas. The "Harry Potter is Gay" thing has been beaten to death for me, and I think this really just relies on that to keep it going. |
Prose and formatting: | 8 | I can't find much wrong with your writing style. You obviously have a good grasp of language, and your formatting and layout work well. There are a few minor errors with the punctuation here and there maybe, but otherwise no problems.. |
Images: | 6 | The "Dead poets" pic was good, but I think you could have used the picture a bit better, and maybe made it a bit bigger. The pic of JK did not really add much in my view. |
Miscellaneous: | 6 | (Averaged out) |
Final Score: | 29 | Like I said, I think your generally on dodgy ground here as this is not a new idea. There is some scope for expansion, but I think that you might have to come up with a new angle or concept to lift this above what people would be expecting when they first see the tittle. Like I say, perhaps there is more subtlety to the humour here, if there is that's cool, but I missed it, and I suspect others will also. |
