So, I wrote this after reading an extremely unfavorable pee review of Barney. I considered simply replacing that page with this, but thought that would be rude. Do you think we should replace that page with this one, or leave them separate? (And, also, of course, I'd like to know what was funny and what was not funny at all). --Hyperbole 01:25, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
| Humour: | 7 | You had some good lines in there. I think really it could maybe do with some expansion, particularly in the “controversial policies” section you could play with that a lot more. But overall the article doesn’t have much behind it to make it hilarious. I think this is just largely because it’s Barney again. also some things in it were a little random and or cheep (britny spears getting a phd) |
| Concept: | 8 | The concept here is certainly better than most other Barney related articles the idea you have that the green party candidate is so unknown that it may as well be a fictional character is pretty good, either that or it’s just the utter infantilism that is displayed by many U.S politicians. Or both, whatever it is it’s a refreshingly different look at the Barney idea.
Also Javascap’s review of the other Barney article was more than fair considering most of it was just “Barney is evil and rapes/eats children” your version at least had some originality to it. It is slightly dampened simply by the fact it’s Barney though. |
| Prose and formatting: | 6 | Your formatting was fine and the prose was good enough but like I said I think it could be expanded more. Try a “personal life” section or “history” as these are frequently mentioned in Wikipedia politician articles.
I think what you should aim for when doing speech for Barney is make it sound like the sort of generic phrases they put in dolls; that would be funny I think and don’t forget to italicise quotes. also i think maybe you could have a see also section, just to make it look more like an article really. and they help bring articles to a close. as it is it looks a bit abandoned. |
| Images: | 4 | Meh. They weren’t bad, but they weren’t magnificent either. In the second pic what exactly do you mean by “these kids are fucking baked”? It’s unclear though maybe you were getting at global warming? The first pic was kinda perfunctionary and in all honesty boring, same thing for the third one though the caption was good |
