| Humour: | 8 | Decent humour, and probably has more jokes in it than the average article. I got a couple of chuckles out of the whole thing, with my favorite jokes being "Garden of Africa," "Freedom, work, slavery, and pay," and "BNA mutated to other species." So, I thought the jokes were fine, and the article maintains humourous themes throughout. |
| Concept: | 8 | The BNA idea behind the article is a decent new twist on an old idea, and while it's not the most fantastic, there is much more content within the main idea that brings your content score to above-average. Firstly, the Nazi theme works, although it's a bit tired - Hitler didn't manage to take over Europe, but he may yet take over the internet. The various ideas contained: the Garden of Africa idea, the thoughtless immigration policy slam, the verbal transmission of the gene (hilarious), the woman and ape mix, the Tyrone line, and the Obama GNA, all bring the article's score up. A couple of the ideas are old, and some arguably racist, but there is a considerable amount of content here. I must note that I looked into the VFD comments, and although I agree that the article has a racist vibe to it - King Kong & Fay Wray in Africa, particularly - I merely ignored that aspect. Freedom of speech and all that; if the readers are offended they can turn away. |
| Prose and formatting: | 5 | This is the weakness of the article, the pictures I found quite dry. Their presence brings some life to the piece, but little humour. I liked the contrast between the facial expressions of Rochester and Tyson, but I think that, for the images to work as intended, you would need a close-up of the angry Tyson face. Then the contrast between the facial expressions would really strike the readers, and the Rochester-Tyson set would be effective, and it would fit better within the entire Rochester-Tyson-Obama set. |
| Images: | 9 | Very well laid out. This article looks good in both the new website layout and the old website layout. The only (minor) criticism I had was that the sections were quite small and gave the article a somewhat cluttered appearance on the old layout. |
