UnTunes talk:Do Islamic State Know It's Christmas?

It's fine to make the song about IS I guess, and the intro clears things up a bit and is a good laugh, but the song doesn't have any direction. At the beginning it's "let's love ourselves Islamic State" or whatever and at the end it's "Eid's no good", which suggests opinion to the opposite. I think it would be best if it were particularly patronising towards IS and also mention Lionel Wimberley. --EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(get dtf) 16:29, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
- I don't mind if we use it or not, but it is coherent. The idea is that it is an inappropriate foistering of "Christian" culture on a non-Christian group. That they are terrorists because they lead humourless lives, and that they are to be converted with turkey and alcohol. For that reason "Eid's no good" - not meaning Eid is shit, but "no good" in the sense that it doesn't serve the purpose, it doesn't include those vital ingredients. It's related to that old joke about Do They Know It's Christmas? being a rather stupid thing to say considering Africa's large non-Christian population. Leverage (talk) 17:54, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
- Yes but that doesn't explain why we should love IS at the beginning of the song. --EveryOtherUsernameWasTaken(get dtf) 15:25, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- Dude, if you can't love thy enemy at Christmas... Leverage (talk) 15:54, 30 November 2014 (UTC)
- Guys, Who want to sing that song? Any ideas? --Tiger Juice
- A few of our facebook readers have said they will. Everyone and anyone is invited to sing (preferably some or all of the song, that way we won't have 2 people sending me the same line, etc. Leverage (talk) 19:44, 2 December 2014 (UTC)
- Ok. You can sing now. :) --Tiger Juice (Explain to me!) 14:23, 6 December 2014 (UTC)
