We had a live-streaming UnRadio a few years ago using Winamp and a third-party stream host. It's definitely feasible but very tedious and highly unpopular. --EMC ^[TALK] 13:13 Aug 15 2013

But what if we outsource the radio stuff to an existing radio station by licensing the MP3s for commercial use? Our stuff is CC-BY-NC-SA, but we can charge royalties on said partner for them to make money on it, which means we also make money to sustain the website. In fact, let's take this idea to the next level: we could issue commercial use licenses for everything (for a price).
