It was started in 2005. It took off something fierce. LOL one of the first things I did was make substantial edits to a featured article and got slapped on the hand. Back then, admins were very quick to block users. Ooooooooops. The community was extremely active back then. To get something featured could require a good 15-20 votes then and there was a big use of the pee review service, a lot of competitions and some stellar articles. In the last 12 months we've started building up to a higher level of energy, really solid articles and a fun level of activity. We used to be hosted on wikia, which tollerated our content because we brought a lot of traffic to the site. They allowed us to keep a different style of formatting. A combination of dissatisfaction with increasing blowback from wikia, a few users being consistently and increasingly unpleasant and impossible to work with led to a majority moving to this site in 2013. A few users stayed on the original site (wikia) though one user there (and still to this day) drove myself and just about everyone away with their ongoing unpleasant and impossible to work with attitude. Since then the site dipped and then animated back to life which is lovely to see. There is a resurgence of a sense of community which is the most special part of the site. One of the biggest features of the site each year was the poo-lit surprise which was a writing competition which brought out some truly amazing articles. I also hosted the happy monkey writing competition where you had 24 hours to write an article assigned to you (also very fun). Here's hoping the vibe continues and the community thrives. There are a few users who still poke in and Kakun is still a regular. In the last years, MrX and Aula have done some fab beaurocrating. ShabiDOO 10:33, 7 October 2025 (UTC)
