Hello. I recently made User: Gale5050/Competence is required, and am starting a forum vote to see if we should make it a {{policy}}. Gale5050 Complain about me! 00:00, 22 September 2020 (UTC)

I am strongly against the notion that anything is required to be a member of the Uncyclopedia community. The page you created does not reflect the realities of the culture of this community. -- The Zombiebaron 17:03, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
Yes, but f you’re incompetent, you keep making the same disruptive edits. Really it’s disruptive editing, but unintentional. Gale5050 Complain about me! 22:23, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
@Gale5050: are you saying that if a user continues to make disruptive edits, they should be taken to Step 3 and/or Step 4? MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 22:28, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
There is nothing, as I see it, wrong with being simply incompetent. We have very few rules and in my experience even someone who is incompetent and follows those rules will not be disruptive. -- The Zombiebaron 22:41, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
Yes, if they can't learn the rules, then it would be considered incompetent. Gale5050 Complain about me! 23:27, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
No, if they can't follow the rules then they are contravening the rules. If a user is incapable of following the rules of Uncyclopedia they are banned and/or added to UN:OFFICE. -- The Zombiebaron 23:49, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
I know, we try to warn them. This is basically a reason in the block log. So we understand it’s good faith, but it’s not a constructive benefit. It could be considered IDHT though. That means failure or refusal to get to the point. We have to know the difference between IDHT and CIR. Gale5050 Complain about me! 00:32, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
I don't understand, who is this "we" you refer to? As I see it, you have been a user of this wiki less than two months and in that time have been told to stop being a dick more times than I can count, and in very polite language. Your response to this is to propose a new policy? How about you just stop being a dick. Also I don't know what IDHT means. -- The Zombiebaron 01:12, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
I’m not being a dick. I misused language. This definitely applies to Nvadertim777(however you spell it). This would have come in useful. IDHT is failure or refusal to get to the point. Signing off now, going to bed. Gale5050 Complain about me! 02:09, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
No, you are being a dick. You are new here and this is not like Wikipedia. -- The Zombiebaron 06:59, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
While users who don't know what they're doing can be frustrating, I don't think we need an additional policy for that or should require it. "Competency" is learned over time and we already ban users like User:Nvadertim7777 without such a policy. --EMC [TALK] 06:26 Sep 26 2020
Browbeating new users for not immediately knowing how the site works is a bad idea. We're not Wikipedia. User:CandidToaster/sig 09:11, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
I’m not saying this has to be immediate. Over time, we’ll start banning them. Gale5050 Complain about me! 12:20, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
To clarify. We'll warn them, first softly(using {{User:Whytheonlyone/uw/rollbacknotice}} and then get stricter. And we ban them. The exception is, this is a better reason in the block log. It can be used to suppliment disruptive editing policies. Gale5050 Complain about me! 16:52, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
This is not a better reason in the block log. It's actually quite vague and unhelpful. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 17:40, 26 September 2020 (UTC)
Yeah, IDHT might be a better policy then CIR. Because yeah, even though CIR is a problem it shouldn’t take that much competence. we could use it in unblock requests to say, “I’m afraid you are too incompetent to edit Uncyclopedia”, instead of using immature.
