Talk Page Archive #2
Kick it old-school with Hinoa's Talk Page Archives! This archive dates back to Saint Patrick's Day of 2006, and continues all the way up until 22 May 2006. Vandalism strictly prohibited here (duh). If you want to vandalize something, get a can of spray paint and tag some bathroom stall. Violators will be shot on sight. I have a banstick and I know how to use it. This page is only here because I am a packrat and can't bear to part with my old stuff. Anything here isn't current. If you have to leave me a message, do so at User talk:Hinoa. That's the page I pay attention to. You can return to my archive index by clicking here.

FCUK

Noticed you're planning to VFD this page once the new policy is up. In line with the criteria identified at http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Forum:VFD, I was wondering which (or all if applicable) of the following four issues regarding this page raised your concern:

  • Relevance: Is the article actually about what it's title is?
  • Significance: Does the title refer to something that matters?
  • Writing Quality: Is the article written with acceptable English spelling and grammar? (unless not doing so is relevant to the topic)
  • Humor: Can the article be construed as having humor potential? (note: this is not, do you find it funny)

Obviously you don't have to respond to this. I'm just curious. Comments to the effect that "I'm going to VFD this page" that don't explain the reason aren't particularly informative.

--RudolfRadna 20:03, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

I didn't particularly find it funny. However, I'll go read it again, keep an open mind, and see if it can't be improved. —Hinoa KUN (talk) 22:21, 3 April 2006 (UTC)

Under the proposed new deletion criteria described by gwax, just because one user doesn't find an article funny doesn't justify deletion:

From http://uncyclopedia.org/wiki/Forum:VFD:

Humor: Can the article be construed as having humor potential? (note: this is not, do you find it funny)

Humor potential means could another person find it funny. If you can't be sure an article that isn't funny to you wouldn't be funny to someone else, the solution is to submit the article to VFD for concensus on deletion, not to slap on an NRV template.

This is a perfect example of the issues I have with the way in which the NRV template is being used now. It's too easy for one person to get an article that others may enjoy, or be able to improve, deleted, just because it doesn't appeal to their peculiar sense of humor. I don't think this is good for uncyclopedia, and it seems that the proposed deletion changes are on the same wavelength as I am.

--RudolfRadna 03:08, 4 April 2006 (UTC)

I made a mistake, unless I misread you, you're proposing to put this article on the VFD for consensus on deletion, rather than NRV it. That's fine, but could I just have the liberty of asking if you have any FCUK stores around where you live? I have a hunch you'd find this funnier if you had a few of them around . . . .

Golden Sun?

Hey, Hinoa. I just saw your banner, and I'd like to offer any help I can give you with this little gem of a game. I've gone through both the first and the second, (with the help of GameFAQs,) and I can try to answer any questions you might have. That is, if you're serious. Otherwise, I guess I just admitted to being a complete dork. Anyway, cheers! --2nd Lt.Yellow Dalek EX- TER- MI- NATE! (O-BEY!) 14:44, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks

Thank you for the promotion sir. It inspired my to update my user page a little, heh. --Composure1 23:48, 14 April 2006 (UTC)

Oooops

Thanks for catching my typo......I've not woken up yet. :) -- Sir Mhaille Icons-flag-gb.png (talk to me)

That's funny, it was 4 in the morning or thereabouts when I made that correction. I'm not sure I was all that awake, either. —Hinoa KUN (talk) 12:28, 18 April 2006 (UTC)

Abu Ghraib

I'm new to writing satirical articles, and the original author SKYRING, has indicated that he is finished with the article in question. So, with respect to the additional reviews, I can do two things: find actual reviews of the "hotel" and satirize them, or add additional newspaper and other articles as a list with external links attached. I agree that the Reviews section can be expanded, but I am not sure which direction is the best. Your guidance is appreciated, or at least give a glimpse of what you had in mind and I will finish it. Kingdom Alaska

I'll work on merging some of them.

I'm up for the challenge

Haiku, you say? Alright then:

Here is an idea
Explain why you dislike it
Don't just say "it sucks"

I was looking at recent changes, and I noticed your edit on ti-83. Please explain why the page has no discernable value instead of just saying "this page sucks" and make it easier for everyone.

Well, I looked at it when it was only one paragraph. Short articles, as a rule of thumb, suck. It has since been expanded, and my NRV was removed.
Oh, and thanks for the haiku. :D —Hinoa KUN (talk) 03:23, 23 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks Again from teh JC students

hi there!! thanks for your comment on my talk page - yes it is illegal under the bill of rights in nz but our school doesn't seem to care about that. alas. :-|

Thanks for correcting my spelling. But more importantly, congratulations for actually managing to read through that lumbering monstrosity, and somehow making it to the end. If I could think of a large, semi-precious shiny thing to award you with, I would. --Bear 15:52, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for improving HowTo:Get Started on Editing Uncyclopedia

I didn't realize that I'd made a mistake in the instructions on how to create a subpage. It's easy to forget I'm still somwhat of a n00b here myself. I guess that's why I created the page to begin with. Anyway, thanks a lot again; I hope the howto article proves to be useful to uncyc. --RudolfRadna 12:58, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

Damn, I was just getting to know you

Still, I'm jealous. I never got to finish my bachelors even thought I read at third grade level. Work hard, have fun, learn stuff. Zimbuddha.jpg Rev. Zim_ulator (Talk) I am the dirt under your rollers 23:57, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

Why? because i like you..and you voted for me

Regardin "El Guapo"

my friend had put up a page on "el guapo" and I, with his permission, added a little section at the bottom. it got blanked. being a noob i though my friend troy was blanking it and noobishly tried to communicate with him through the edit function. is their any chance the article could be put back? i dont want my friend to beat me. please dont let him beat me

The reason I did that is because it was against the vanity policies. I doubt any users on Uncyc other that you and User:El guapo (whom I think is your friend Troy) would get that, therefore, it's non-notable vanity. The page is currently CVP'd; however, I will restore the article to User:El guapo and User:Patrickl/El Guapo. —Sir Major Hinoa [TALK] [KUN] 23:21, 16 May 2006 (UTC)

Sorry

Hey, sorry - didn't mean to call you an idiot on the "move" of my "New Month's" article. Someone else had changed the link on my own user page, and I thought the same person had moved the article. Anyway, the intended spelling is in fact "New Month's", just like you spell "New Year's." It's one specific month's eve, so the possessive is month's not months'.

Tim McGraw

Hey, the Tim article wasn't that bad. It was kind of funny, it just needed more.--Woody 20:23, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

NRV is pretty much saying "If you don't make this article good in a week, it's gone." Use that chance. —Hinoa KUN (talk) 03:03, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

Regarding "Nippon Ichi"

To clarify, I was the creator of the article, and I just recently realized it was deleted. I don't want to argue or anything though, because you did what you had to. It wasn't funny or keeping to Uncyclopedia humor, and I understand that. I did want to say though that I didn't simply combine two random words; Nippon Ichi is a game development company which has put out games such as Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, La Pucelle: Tactics, and Phantom Brave. I don't want to argue its deletion, I just wanted to explain to you that its not a random combination of words. I'll try to put more humor into my next article, and thanks for looking out for the Uncyclopedia. --AimMan.exe 5:57, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

I didn't know that. Thanks for clarifying. —Hinoa KUN (talk) 02:59, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
