Hello...[edit | edit source]

Thank you for your interest in editing! However, adding   everywhere is not necessary. You could be using … to add a proper ellipses. Moving the punctuation outside of the quote marks is technically improper and thus unnecessary as well. Also, many writers prefer initial caps for heading text. This is a style choice and not something you need to change. Just some things to keep in mind.

Seealso. --Brogo13 (talk) 07:17, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
p.s. Hello ... again?
You are quoting Wikipedia. We are not Wikipedia. We use American/British standard grammar rules here. You should google apostrophe usage for possessive cases. Technically both are correct but your choice to revert me shows that you don't know that. Maybe try writing your own article instead of editing others'.
If you are looking for 'busy' work you may replace three dots with the ellipses template, {{...}}. You may also change [[Image: prefixes to [[File: as you are reading. Thank you for wanting to help!

Header text..[edit | edit source]

Please stop changing header text to lowercase. I have told you already that it is a style choice here. We are not Wikipedia and you aren't even being consistent within the articles. Also, please stop making unnecessary edits to featured articles.

"Here" is a parody of "there". Please. --Brogo13 (talk) 16:02, 10 June 2021 (UTC)
Why do you keep linking to Wikipedia's style guide? Do you understand what I am saying to you?

Please stop changing header text to lowercase.[edit | edit source]

This is a style choice. You are not being consistent either. Why do you keep insisting on this? There is plenty of proofreading to do. Misspelled words, grammar, punctuation... You could write your own articles (more than one). PLEASE STOP.

As I've tried to explain to you multiple times, a lot of the stuff you do here makes everything less funny. For just one example, on the Uncyclopedia:Style Guide, why did you remove the word "snooty"? Some of the stuff there, like not capitalizing space, yeah, not bad, maybe feel free to redo that part when your block expires, but it doesn't really matter either way. That's why I reverted your whole edit(s). It's much easier that way, and I reverted negative shit and neutral stuff, as I've already explained to you multiple times. Get off your high horse with your edit summaries crap. We're not wikipedia. Edit summaries are great but not an absolute necessity. And what the fuck do you mean when you keep saying that you "just lurk here"? MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 20:06, 25 July 2021 (UTC)

Edits to featured articles[edit | edit source]

While it is great that you are contributing to improving articles, we have an unwritten rule that you do not make anything more than very small cosmetic changes to featured articles or clear gramattical or spelling changes or helping update clearly out of date material. If you want to make the kind of changes you have been making, please ask the authors permission first. You might consider improving articles that haven't been featured yet. ShabiDOO 01:03, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

I do "ask the authors" (plural) to approve (let stand) or object to (revert) every change I propose – the request is implicit in the proposal. Meanwhile, "very small", "cosmetic", "clear gramattical [sic]", and "clearly" are no less subjective than my decision several times an hour to not give a f[lying flip] whether the article I'm working on was ever featured. ¶If you mean "author's" (singular), and/or sumpm 'bout plastic, skews peas.
Brogo, DO NOT make edits beyond a changing a few words to featured articles or spelling/grammar changes without asking the users on their talk pages first. End of discussion. I will alert an admin if you do it again. Also, cut the snarky assholy tone. ShabiDOO 11:01, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

Cutting entire sentences from featured articles[edit | edit source]

Cuts of that nature are editorial and is a no-no on this wiki, especially if the original author is still active. As I am active, suggest such an edit on the articles talk page. While I appreciate you improving some of the grammar and a word here and there...if you cannot resist the urge to make editorial changes, do not touch my featured articles. ShabiDOO 22:53, 9 December 2021 (UTC)

Brogo, I clearly asked you NOT to do something editorial like remove an entire sentence, I reverted you and you just went back and did it (by putting them in hidden text code). Do not, in any shape or form do something like that with my featured articles (or any featured article) again. That includes removing images (which super pisses me off as this is an extremely editorial decision you should NOT be making with featured articles). Last warning, do it again and I will ask the admins to put sanctions on you. ShabiDOO 23:19, 10 December 2021 (UTC)
Brogo, this is something you’ve been asked not to do multiple times before by multiple other editors. I’m not gonna repeat everything again. Last warning. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 00:25, 11 December 2021 (UTC)

It's not TOO big of an issue, but next time, (if there is a next time) get permission from the original/main author of the article. It's just kinda common decency. Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Geometry Dash, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to Uncyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think we made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Your edits to Geometry Dash seem to have only added a slightly changed plagiarism of an ad for the Crest toothpaste brand, moved the Wikipedia template further down, and add an irrelevant image (Whoascroll.jpg). The addition of the "Average Geometry Dash player" image was relevant to the article and funny, but it would've been better if you could've placed it somewhere more context-specific on the page. Please reply to discuss further. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 22:28, 17 June 2022 (UTC)

Information.svg Thank you for wanting to contribute. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at HTBFANJS to learn more about contributing to this comedy project.

Please understand that the reason I added the older warnings message is for the sake of transparency. Please either 1) preserve your warning and block messages, 2) preserve the old warnings notice, or 3) contact an administrator for a second opinion.

On another topic: Please do not fix things that aren't broken. It does not matter if you link to vandalism or Vandalism if you put different text over it. It does not matter which alias you use for certain redirects (my reasons are the same as wp:WP:NOTBROKEN, wp:WP:DONTFIX, and wp:WP:DONTFIXIT - while this is not Wikipedia, I share the same opinions), and so on. Thanks. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 16:03, 25 September 2022 (UTC)

Additionally, some changes in wording choice make sense (for example, if the wording used is incoherent, confusing, wordy, unprofessional, etc.). However, changing words to use a synonym that means virtually the exact same thing is unhelpful. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 16:08, 25 September 2022 (UTC)

I know you're blocked, but once you get back, please note: the spacing in the wikitext for infoboxes does not really matter. Please do not add random tabs and spaces into templates. Microsoft for POTUS (talk) 18:00, 25 September 2022 (UTC)

You have had the same issues on Wikipedia, and you are now (ironically), doing the same stupid shit on our article about Wikipedia. Please stop adding things to pages, then repeatedly restoring it without reason after being reverted.

Furthermore, yes, you are frequently reverted without reason. This is because you have been repeatedly reverted with reason for blanking pages, adding irrelevant images, changing words for no reason (sometimes disruptively or making it less funny), etc. Please just listen to what people are trying to tell you. I don't know what you mean by "we're not wikipedia" on the Beetlejuie page. THAT page already existed but only had the title on that, and the little saying about juice and being made from beetles. That was IT! So I took it over. Why would you think I had anything to do with wikipedia being involved? I don't even understand what that means! I wasn't even there! It just wasn't my fault! The ONLY people involved with that page up until I went and wrote up that article are featured as characters within the article. But there was nothing prior to that that I could see. So that's why. Brogo, you've been told this multiple times by other people, but apparently you need to be told this again: We don't have to follow Wikipedia's Manual of Style. Or anything else that dictates how articles should be written, other than standard grammar rules. Alula.gifAlula.gif 07:29, 14 February 2023 (UTC)
I was wondering why Brogo put this as a separate section on here, so I didn't know he was addressing me and waited for any insight into why wikipedia was being brought up in the Beetlejuice article. I had honestly thought it was to do with the fact I did take it over and write a full article on that subject. I didn't know it was how I wrote it. So now that I know it's the way I wrote it, I hope Brogo understands that I just like wild, outrageous situation comedy and that I see things that maybe others don't in a story or an event. I can see the comedy-potential there. For things like Beetlejuice which is already a comedy anyway. And the way I write the sections that seem to bother him, it's just that it looks better to me to do it that way. It's more aesthetic. I like to sensationalize each part of the story. I used to read a lot of fan-fiction so long ago. Sci-fi fan-fiction like Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and not to mention Lord of the Rings. And every site that featured full pages in finished works always had sections or chapters, but they were featured like what is seen here. A sort of article as it were. Authors would try to cram as much on one page in a website link in websites that would feature individual stories. The bigger websites would be especially nice with background textures and allowed pictures to be featured with people's stories. A lot of authors were also painters and would create original artwork to go with the characters they wrote about. It's from this, that I've taken inspiration. About that comma[edit | edit source]

Yes, I'm aware that many/most people use that comma. They're wrong. Let me easily explain why. The comma that separates names of places (like cities from states/provinces) exists to help readers who are unfamiliar with the place in question understand which words belong to one name. A good example is Halifax, Nova Scotia. If we didn't have that comma there, then someone unfamiliar with Canadian geography or the Latin language would be confused. They might think that Halifax Nova is a city in the province of Scotia, or they might think that Halifax Nova Scotia is the name of one entity. That separating comma serves a purpose. For some completely unknown reason, a long time ago, one idiot decided that we should include a comma after these names as well. That completely ignores the functionality and purpose of the comma. For an even less understandable reason, way too many people carried on doing it. As for the sentence in the Kamala Harris article, let's simplify it a little. If the sentence only mentioned the city Harris was born in or only mentioned the state she was born in, we would not include a comma after it. For example, we would not say, "Harris was born in California, to a mother from India." That comma does not alleviate any potential confusion in regards to the name of the place, and it separates parts of the sentence that should not be separated by a comma. Just because we say "Oakland, California" does not mean we need to arbitrarily add a comma after the name of the place. Consider the following, should we say, "Oakland, California, used to have three professional sports teams."? Anyway, while going with what everyone else does isn't a horrible idea, in some articles, like this one, we're going to stick with better grammar practices. Remember, everyone in the world has been wrong many times before. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 17:15, 6 September 2023 (UTC)

Do you want your block increased? I never should have had to explain why edits like this look weird and mess up the article. You're constantly citing Wikipedia MOS crap. Show me one Wikipedia article that looks like that (obviously not some random stub or something that was recently edited or something), and I'll unblock you. Yes, I know they use a different skin now, but it's still easy to switch to the old look. Seriously, of all the things you do, I can't believe this is one you're trying to defend. Dear god, I promised myself I wouldn't deal with bullshit straw man not listening after Gale5050, but here we are. Aside from your sentence spacing article, you have, on MANY occasions, cited Wikipedia stuff. And I never said there was anything wrong with an image of Mr. Bean, it's the LOCATION of the image. If you keep acting like you didn't do something you did, keep refusing to listen, and/or keep making straw man arguments, you can expect more blocks. I recommend you stop making any changes to images. I know your most recent edit to a featured article didn’t mess up the table of contents, but moving images to the wrong section looks horrible and doesn’t make sense. You also made one image a lot smaller; I have no idea why. Your grammatical edits are almost always welcome, but your image edits almost always mess up the article. Please stop. MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 18:36, 24 September 2023 (UTC)

  • Please take a look at edit this article.
    • The top edges of two images encroach "the wrong section", but zoom out (Ctrl-) and watch (in horror) where the captions go. I suggest either pixels (deprecated) or scaling (upright=).
    • How 'bout moving the other one (the big arrow) all the way to the top (and left) of the article?
    • Oh, by the way – all(?) FA template(s) go below all(?) others, just above categories.
  • The "lot smaller" image you mentioned, and the one below it, I re-sized to make them fit their captions.
  • I have no idea what didn’t or doesn’t “make sense” until I'm told. Or asked.
  • I recommend – indeed welcome – any and all partial reversions.[6] --Brogo13 (talk) 23:45, 24 September 2023 (UTC)
FML. I'll fix those images in a little bit. I'm gonna put them back to the featured version. No, we're not moving the big arrow to the top left of the article. Yes, FA templates go below everything. It looks like shit the way you did it. The templates are almost part of the article; they add to the humor. The FA template just says that the article was featured. I have no idea why you're trying to defend making the images too small; nothing fit anything in that one. I told you exactly why moving images to the wrong section is, well, wrong. I even showed you a Wikipedia MOS/policy/essay/whatever explaining it, even though I really hate doing that. I thought (stupidly) it might help you. Instead you completely ignored it and are now showing me yet another Wikipedia policy/essay/nobody cares. Your useful contributions are beginning to be outweighed by your disruption. Block increase[edit | edit source]

I have increased your block because i noticed that you have made an edit while logged out during your time being blocked (or something like that, i'm not a master on sentence structuring). I shouldn't have to tell you this again, but doing that is seen as block evasion. Don't do it. At all. Any more of that and you're gonna have a way longer block on your hands. Blocked for AGAIN moving images to the wrong section, we've been over this so many times, and I've let it slide so many times[edit | edit source]

Stop x nuvola with clock.svg

You have been blocked from editing for a period of three months for making articles look stupid for absolutely no reason. If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please write them down on a pineapple and shove it right up your ass. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions, but it is highly recommended that you stop making articles look stupid for absolutely no reason. Thaaanks! --MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 16:17, 7 December 2023 (UTC)

Wow. Unbelievable. And to think I was open to reducing your block. Get off your high horse you fucking jackass. No, saying that we can “simply” undo your stupid crap is not an acceptable excuse for your stupid crap, especially when you’ve been warned about it so many times and it so obviously fucks up our Featured Articles. Nobody had “accepted” anything you said, mainly because you always communicate with us in such an annoyingly whimsical manner, despite countless attempts to work with you. Then you have the audacity to claim that you are the one being patient with us, REALLY??? MrX blow me Emoji-drool.gif 21:35, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
By your logic, a vandal can continue to vandalize since we can simply revert it. No, sorry, im with MrX on this. L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 09:39, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
Holy fuck you brung me into this. This block had to happen, now I think your "fixes" are pretty unnecessary in our opinion --+-=÷x Sapplerx x÷=-+ (talk) 13:30, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
Brogo, saying that we can just move the images that you moved back is not a good excuse. In fact, it's one of the worst excuses that i've ever heard. L10nM4st3r has already said why. You have gotten away with way too much stuff for two and a half years now, and you have gotten an absolutely enormous amount of warnings before, that you can see here. I have absolutely no patience left for you. Three months is incredibly short considering all of this.
Oh, and you're probably looking at an even longer block if i catch any ban evasion stuff. Alula.gifAlula.gif 16:08, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
What you are doing is not "repair", but "indirect destruction". --\78/T 02:10, 10 December 2023 (UTC)
I think we all learned an important life lesson here. Don't do something just because "it can be reverted". Most likely people won't give a damn and hate you just as much, or more, than if you didn't give that exuse in the first place. L10nM4st3r ROAR at me! / What my paws scratched 10:24, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
Lately I was informed of the events on this page by email, so I'll say what I've been thinking, Allen. As much as I like your little Easter eggs, I support the ban. If you prefer WP policies, WP:NOTHERE might apply. (PS: wp:The Parable of the Ants is only an essay on WP; opinion, not policy.) Wiki editing is about compromise and consensus. An editor who follows neither cannot contribute to any wiki in a meaningful way. EmulsifiedExcuse (talk) 16:17, 11 December 2023 (UTC)
Brogo, your edits often improve the grammar and readability of the articles. And you have in general calmed down on changing the feel/content etc of articles. But Emulsified has said this all best, we are a community and building something by consensus, communication and fun. Having to chase someone around a wiki and repeatedly ask them not to do something is not fun. Someone ignoring what you ad infinitum ask them nicely not to do is not fun, not community nor consensus. The excuse that "I'm improving things" misses the point if you think that on a wiki, the best way to improve something is to ignore what everyone says/wants/says and do whatever you feel like doing. This sucks the life out of the place. I will propose a six month ban for you editing featured articles (I am sure it will pass) and I would encourage you, from now on, to listen thoughtfully what people ask, engage in courteous dialogue, reply to people's questions and respect the general tone, spirit and community of the wiki. Otherwise...what are you doing here? ShabiDOO 22:27, 11 December 2023 (UTC)

2024[edit | edit source]

So i just need a question answered here[edit | edit source]

Is there any particular reason that you make certain images frameless when you edit articles? More specifically the ones with captions. And especially the ones where you decide to keep said captions. Alula.gifAlula.gif 00:33, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

In a word, yes – just replace the parameter with "thumb" (or "frame", or "center", or nothing at all) and watch what happens. Likewise specify pixels (deprecated) or use "upright=" scaling (preferred) as (and only if) necessary. Take notes, though; jpgs and png's and gif's don't all render exactly the same. Meanwhile, I can't recall any image that has both a caption and a tooltip. (?) --Brogo13 (talk) 03:16, 1 April 2024 (UTC)
That's not really what my question was about. It was about why you do that stuff, not how. Alula.gifAlula.gif 21:20, 1 April 2024 (UTC)

Ban on featured articles[edit | edit source]

Brogo, you are restricted from editing featured articles (decided by admins). Judging by your recent edit of my Jupiter moons article, it shows that after repeated requests and warnings, you are not capable of making only minor edits (you made notable content changes). This is non-negotiable and starts now. Any edit of any kind on a featured article will result in increasing blocks (starting with 1 week and doubling each time, second will be 2 weeks, then 1 month, then 2 months, then 4/8/16 etc). All edits to featured articles will be rolled back. You can contribute in other ways to the wiki, not featured articles. Only warning. ShabiDOO 13:20, 29 April 2024 (UTC)

Oh my. (Oh. My!) Please. --Brogo13 (talk) 02:51, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
